haven't played in about 2 weeks now since my league ended, but playing in a scramble on Friday. I don't expect us to win, but you never know. I know 2 of the 3 I am playing with and know their abilities, but not sure about our 4th. Regardless, it should be great weather for a scramble.

Good for you!

The humidity has cleared out so we're not getting the double whammy with the heat+humidity like a normal summer day, but 90+ temps are back :noidea:...why? We're damn near into October!

In either case, I think everyone is in town this coming weekend and we'll tee it up again....early.

Gonna play 18 today. It's been a couple of weeks and my ailments seem to have lessened. It's gonna be really cold here today with mid-day highs around 60.

I usually play well after a layoff. Last night I was practicing a 60yd half wedge in the front lawn and just started dropping them right in front of the pin shot after shot. It's so fucking hard to stop isn't it? I made myself quit before I started spraying them.

Fingers crossed.

Got to the course early and Phil was an hour late. Backed my truck into a telephone pole and fucked up the bumper pretty good. Upper holes of the course were closed for a wedding and then I sprayed the ball like I'd never played before.

Good times.

Gonna try a few holes today as we've got rain the rest of the week. Not may days left for us up here in NE. I pretty much had a lost year....hopefully next March I'll be back to buying shit I don't need on ebay.

Talk about climate change...September was the hottest on record in quite some time...hell just last Friday it was 96. A cold front came thru Friday night and it's been low 80s high 70s the last few days and that's supposed to hold true through the weekend so me and boys are heading north to the state park on Saturday.

Welcome to Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course at Richard B. Russell State Park - Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course

The swank Lake Oconee courses are the pride of GA and have green fees to prove it. This track has some of the nicest lake views comparable to any $150-$200 course on Lake Oconee...only this one only cost $40!

Looking forward to it.

My game? For the most part nothing new...41-43 last weekend at the home course..

Wow, that place looks nice and ya can't beat the price.

Got in 7 holes last night but finished in the dark.

Let's face it...the season's nearing the end here in NE. It was a fuckin' lost year for me anyhow. Fingers crossed for an injury free year in '20~

It's incredible, especially the back 9....It's an hour and a half from the house though on the South Carolina border...neither of my buddie have played this one so I've been waiting for a nice cool weekend, and we finally have it coming...77 is the forecast for Sat.

Golf weather...this is when it pays to live in north GA.

Normally...September thru Thanksgiving is the second wind golf season down here mid 60s and 70s. Courses do not close for winter here. December we normally get at least 2 good golf weekends...January and February are literally hit or miss. Last year we hit...we played every weekend in Feb and that was a 1st.

For you sir...definitely a tough year injury wise. As we keep getting older, stuff just breaks...fingers crossed for a healthy '20 golf season!

Seasons just about over. I have a 1pm tee time, supposed to be a high of 38 with winds at 15 mph.

Finally starting to hit the ball decent, a couple of weeks ago i started on the back nine with a 44 and turned to the front and shot a 36. The 36 for nine and 80 for 18 are my best scores ever.. The 44 on the back included two penalty strokes, both because i hit my irons longer than I have been and I went in the water laying up on two holes.

Yesterday was as cold as today, shot an 87, hit my driver and irons well, but i couldn't get a feel for the greens. Some were really fast and others were super slow. But I like where my game is at the moment.

Damn, no golf today. The dusting of snow we got last night is still on the greens...guess I'll wait until tomorrow.

We played 18 yesterday. It was mid fifties and sunny but with not too much wind so it was bearable. I didn't play all that well but importantly, I finished 18 holes and I'm not lame today so that's a victory~

It's been a few weeks now but we played the state park (beautiful course)...none us of played well...I think I was low medal with 91. Weekend after that it rained, the following week...just ideal weather, played the home course...41-43 was good enough to take the front $5 and overall $5.

This past weekend Saturday was incredible weather...started chilly but warmed up to near 70...about the same yesterday I hit balls both days, but didn't play...good friend was burning leaves so I took a box of old papers and stuff I needed to burn over with some cold ones, watching football.

This weekend some chilly weather is forecasted...we shall see...if it's at least 50 degs I'll play.

I haven't swung a golf club in almost a year now. This was a great season for it in Seattle as well. Even now mid-day it's probably holding up pretty well but the frost/rain is about to take over for 4 months. Guess it's a good time for lessons to get something resembling a game back and look forward to 2020.

And I'm at the age where golf should be priority #1 as far as recreational sports go. I've been skiing for 40+ years and my knees and feet are about to explode. Time to accept that it probably won't be my thing moving forward and get really hard core into something else.

Never played in the Pacific Northwest...so there is a golf season there as well huh.

We never close for the season so to speak, but JAN/FEB we might get 15-18 good golf days total....perfect time to find your swing again.

The first sport I picked up after I realized my basketball days were behind me was tennis. I can still play with the wife just hitting it back and forth, but my right knee swells up under too much stress these days so I quit the ALTA league...wasn't going to have surgery just to keep playing tennis.

Winters in seattle are brutal for golf. You either have rain or frost delays if it's clear from Mid november to like March 1. Grass gets really thin as well due to the constant cold temperatures.

I've played a lot of golf in Colo and it's weird out there...One day it's 30 degs and snowing, two days later it's 65 degs and guys are playing.

We have frost delays here just about every day in JAN/FEB...Sept-Nov is pretty good golf weather here most of the time....I think this Sat is going to be mid 50s and Sun mid 60s....I'm not expecting to play this weekend...I may decide Sun morning to play but as of now...bagging it this week.

Did you get hurt? Why such a long lay off?

Not much of a tennis player but was a huge basketball guy until I moved to Seattle. I could tell my days were over my early 30's. Started to get run off the court by guys in their late teens/early 20's. That by itself is fine but also dealing with the bullshit that you do playing pick-up ball just completely made it not worth it anymore. Some people take that shit way too seriously.

Broke my collarbone skiing. So my left side is now about a half-inch slimmer than my right side as far as shoulder-length goes which kind of fucked everything up as far as a swing goes. I played for a few months after it healed like 6 months later but there's just a lot of work I need to do to get back. Gave me new respect for football players. I broke that thing and I was down for like 15 minutes. Grossest feeling I ever experienced in my life and a broken collarbone is a pretty common injury that NFL players come back from.

I played in bb HS and was pretty decent...had some mid major schools offering me scholarships my Jr yr...but Sr yr the team was terrible...I got moved from two guard to center...one of the mid majors was still interested in me walking on, but I wasn't that keen on doing that. Went to a local school and didn't play at all. Actually stopped playing altogether until I got married and I played in a over 30 league, then the over 40 league....that's when my knees started giving me trouble.

The last time I played basketball was maybe 5 or 6 yrs ago. I was up at the playground by myself just shooting around. Some youngsters (some teens, some 20 somethings) came up to play full court so I moved to one of the side baskets to get out of the way. Lo and behold...next thing you know I'm on a team playing the winners from the previous game. This was outdoors on a concrete court...the next day my knees were like rubber...took several days of icing and heat pads to get things back to normal...that was my last time playing basketball.
