Be a great theory if A, Elliott stays healthy all season, and B, sure would suck to have your number one goalie get exposed for weaknesses against top team's in the playoffs.

If we're at 104 points, I'll take my chances against the #2 Wild Card at that point......

I'm ready for the parade down Broad Street

Love that Purdue helmet.

On goalies, I'm with you guys on Hart getting around 50. I don't think Elliot takes the other 32ish though. I'm going to say Elliot gets 20-25 and Lyon/Berube/Sandstrom cover the rest. I doubt all 3 of them get games, but I'm not sure who gets them Itwill depend on time of the year and their own health.

So in tonight's game, Simmer has Roo lined up for a massive crushing hit. Does he lay Roo out or does he let up on the hit?

Simmonds would never do that to Gee. He would do it to Twarinski Pitlick or Bunnaman if he did it to anyone on the Flyers. I particularly hope he crushes JVR to dust.

Could happen with JVR, I don't see Simmer playing against our top line.

And if Raffl keeps producing he may be our third line LW.
I like having Raffl where he is, he will dominate most teams fourth lines and should have a decent season. If we can score on all 4 lines consistently, it will take us a lot further, we haven't had much depth for years.

Besides depth we haven't played 60 minute games, we haven't had any penalty kill, our goalies stunk and our defense hasn't been good. Thank the great Hexy for that.

Yep and so far all that has been eliminated this season so we'll see if the team can stay with this philosophy.

Withholding judgement until we get to the 10 game mark.

I seriously think solidifying the goal tending is the absolute #1 difference. Seemed like every single mishandled puck (JVR) ended up as a goal against last year. For our defense and just about everyone on the ice, they were playing nervous (I'm being kind to JVR) . Just like telling a 4 year old to be careful and not spill your drink.

With the confidence you have a goal tender behind you that will make good saves, comes more confidence with the puck handling.

Also just from the first game, and what we read, looks like AV will not reward bad / lazy play with promotion to the top line (JVR). I don't think AV will create lines based on salary (JVR) . ( ...Funny we have a winger on our 3rd line who makes as much as our 1st line center.......) He apparently is making people accountable (JVR)
