Take your pick. Rendon is offered 30 mil yr and hasn't signed. He wants to much in my opinion.Who is?

Rendon is a fit.
110% agree especially when we need pitching. We won't contend in 2020 so no reason to rush out and sign another long expensive contract with ball and chain attached.Other opportunities will come up.If the report of what WAS offered him is true, then no thank you.
That is a good start.
Yankees Dodgers and some others named JD have spent tremendous amounts of money and watch WS on tv like the rest of us. Wise is the key. We proved that in Minor and Lynn. Gallo was a wise decision to keep him when he looked terrible. Fielder was a big dollar mistake. The Angels have spent tons on Trout and Puhols and look what that got them. Big long contracts are not the way to go in most cases. Rendon is one big long contract I don't think is wise. The cost of doing business in MLB is what it is. When you want to win a WS you pay the cost of doing business. You just have to be wise. Sometimes spending less on a good player instead of paying more for a great player is the worst thing you can do. That is what we did with Choo.
Generally speaking, spending big on hitters is much less risky than spending big on pitching. That is what we did with Beltre. I remember so many being against spending for him at the time.
Yes, spend wise as in Raffy, ARod, and Beltre, and not like Choo and Prince. I tend to put Rendon in that first category.Yankees Dodgers and some others named JD have spent tremendous amounts of money and watch WS on tv like the rest of us. Wise is the key. ARod? 10yr at$250 mil. He played 3yr I believe before being traded to NY. I believe he ended up costing us plenty if my memory is correct.Yes, spend wise as in Raffy, ARod, and Beltre, and not like Choo and Prince. I tend to put Rendon in that first category.

He was worth the money we paid him. It was Hicks being on the verge of bankruptcy that forced us to trade him away. He performed as well as could be expected while here.ARod? 10yr at$250 mil. I agree but JD and the owners will not actively pursue him. They will make a lowball offer and then act like it was a very good offer and they can't understand why he chose 3 or 4 more years and an AAV of 25MRendon is a fit.
I think they plan on signing a free agent 3B and Odor at 2B. That leaves Solak in AAA and blocked even more than Calhoun used to be.We need to see if Solak is in the plan at 2nd. Not sure if he has to compete with Odor and Wendzel.
