You both have Texas, so that part is a wash. However, Oregon, Washington & Notre Dame trump Miami, Colorado & Utah. And currently, ending the season against Michigan is at least as challenging as finishing against Florida St. UF gets a bonus if they play USF in the same season as one of the newer teams on their schedule; otherwise, gotta give props to Ohio St.
They typically are playing/scheduling 1 decent OOC opponent every season. Florida is now playing/scheduling 2 decent OOC opponent every season. Sure FSU is down now (I love it), but that doesn't mean they are perennial losers like the rest of OSU's and UF's OOC teams opponents.

I suspect you support that soft schedule because Alabama does the same thing as Ohio State. Only one decent OOC game per year... if even that.

The only OOC ranked team that FL ever has is FSU. FL is know far and wide for being scared.
It's too bad Florida doesn't play Ohio State every year. They are usually ranked, and it's always a win for the Gators.

Except for UF also having Utah, Colorado, miami and Texas.

Derp.
Umm Colorado and Utah are not exactly big name programs, Washington and Oregon are light year better opponents from a big game match up perspective if we are comparing PAC teams

FL only plays the Buckeyes in lowly bowl games except of course when an Buckeye is leading FL.

Try making the playoffs and maybe you can play the Buckeyes. I wont hold my breath.

The last two seasons bucked the norm for Alabama. They usually have at least one really good OOC opponent (such as Michigan, Virginia Tech, USC, West Virgina) & often a mid-major with serious potential (like Fresno St., Colorado St.). Last year didn't pan out because Louisville totally fell apart. The match-up with Duke happened because nobody else would step up to take on the Tide.

Florida in recent years has had more seasons when they have faced (or scheduled) two or more FCS opponents than when they have scheduled more than one P-5 opponent.

Ohio State plays an extra conference game. UF should have 1 more good OOC opponent than them annually.

2 decent opponents every year?
2020 FSU and ???
2021 FSU and USF? (Are you seriously calling USF a decent opponent?)
2022 FSU and USF
2023 FSU and ???
2024 FSU and Miami
2025 FSU and Miami
2026 FSU and open
2027 FSU and open
2028 FSU and Colorado
2029 FSU and Colorado

You do realize that OSU plays one more conference game so they have less of a chance to play P5 teams. Let me know when Florida plays 11 P5 in a season like you are suggesting OSU should.

Yeah, but playing Rutgers is like playing somebody from the MAC (which they already tend to do on a regular basis).

You are so wrong. MAC teams are much better than Rutgers.

Well Ohio State doesn't have FCS cupcakes UT Martin or Towson. Florida does. And I'm not saying Ohio State played a good OOC schedule. But they didn't play FCS teams.

A cupcake is a cupcake. It doesn’t matter if it’s s division I bottom feeder or a I-aa team. UF plays two P5 opponents OOC. Ohio State doesn’t.

Which adds up over time to far more ranked OOC opponents than Ohio State plays. They must be really scared.

Ummm fsu and miami are much tougher and much more big name over time than the OOC opponents Ohio State plays.

Are all Big 10 opponents really “good”?

If so, how come UF plays more ranked opponents overall than Ohio State?

Didn’t realize the national championship game was a lowly bowl game.
