If Kirby announced his retirement at the end of the season, and I could pick a coach that we had a realistic chance to hire, Clawson would be my pick(realistic chance to hire, Dabo, Saban, Urban Meyer and Lincoln Riley wouldn't come)

Miss St on the road is nothing to sneeze at. They are a talented squad in the trenches and Kansas St physically stood toe to toe. I was surprised by what I saw. Last time they played Miss St physically whipped Kansas St.

Miss State still has some pieces, but they're not in a spot to lose two first round talents on defense along with arguably the best QB in program history and not take a step back.

They are still much more talented than Kansas State. Kansas State is one of the worst recruiting programs in P5. That was a sign of culture and coaching yesterday. They just plain played harder and more physical than Miss St. Hard to do that in year one with a new coach. But the rumblings are Bill Snyder had worn thin with the kids so buy in might have been easier than normal.

I think coaching changes are a little more complicated than that, but I do see your point about similarities in programs. It's just hard to get trust and buy in from guys who didn't sign up to play for you. You were chosen for them.

I'd go along with that line of thinking. But, his style is very similar to Snyder's style of hard-nosed football.
Nothing really changed for them, with the exception that whatever skill K-State has, this guy can get them in
space and make things interesting.
