We are headed up as well, camping trip with some friends and ballgame weekend.
I've noticed that too as far as buzz, at least in the southern part of the state. The folks I talk to seem to like what they see/hear about Coach Brown so far but just don't know that much about him and what he has done at other places.
He gets some success and imo he will be a huge hit all over, guy has checked all the boxes so far when it comes to being a class act and leader but now comes the hard part, winning games.
some of it may be just as simple as one of my coworkers says about WVU football, " I'll always root for WVU but I have to be honest, I could care less about playing Iowa State or Texas Tech ect. OU and Texas aside I have lost a ton of interest since we joined the Big12."
That could be a lot of WVU fans and that's understandable imo.

I have heard so many mixed views about the season, but I think people need to take it one game at a time, especially getting momentum from the first game against JMU. But are there any current injuries we need to worry about? I heard about Kendall's plantar fasciitis, but it looks like that has cleared up. Just want to be prepared for everything this season.
This team has zero depth...and attrition will catch up to them by week 4...and it will be down hill from there..
He was more excited about UCONN and Rutgers?![]()
Agree, keep expectations tempered, keep one of the chicken bowls as the ceiling then anything better ( than 6-7 wins) would just be gravy on the biscuits. If its 5 or less wins then... chalk it up as a rebuild year and look forward to 2020 and beyond.I have heard so many mixed views about the season, but I think people need to take it one game at a time, especially getting momentum from the first game against JMU. What injuries do we have to worry about?
I just think he means the other teams just FEEL so distant/disconnected from us that the interest is just not there like it was with VT/Pitt/Maryland ect. I get it (at least to a point) , CFB as a product is better and has made its name on regional/local rivalries and we (as well as some other schools) have definitely lost that since realignment. Its great that we will play VT/Pitt/PSU again but imo at least one of those schools should be on the schedule every single year.
Personally I'd try it one more time with Pitt/VT and maybe PSU but if none of those were interested then I'd do everything in my power to lock Maryland or MAYBE Cincy in to a 15-20 year deal to play every year game 1, home n home, trophy, the whole 9 yards and put Marshall back on the schedule for one of our "gimmie" games every year early in Morgantown then a FCS tomato can in November to break up the Big12 grind.
I don't disagree about sprinkling in some local flavor..but honestly...and its just my opinion.. if your not playing those teams year in and year out that doesn't flip my pickle either...BBW and I went saw the VA Tech game at Fedex...outside of a little jumpin around to Sandman...the game just didn't feel the same...just more nostalgic than value..
I preferred the old Big East when Miami and Vt were in the conference.
I'll miss the JMU game this year but will catch most of the rest.
Man, if only sPitt had listened to Paterno in the early 1980s!!! Foge single handed altered college ball for the worse.Pitt makes the most sense as our yearly OOC game now with the history ect. though I prefer the VT series personally.
VT has UVA so that makes sense for them, Miami just seems... lije another Big12 team at this point imo, just goo far away. Pitt would love to have PSU every year but Penn State seems to have told them to pound sand as far as a yearly and that’s understandable considering the history and the JoPa offer/Pitt/BEast snub years ago.
Maybe WVU should be used as center for realignment:
WVU
Pitt
UVA
Ohio State
Penn State
Maryland
VT
UK
UT
Michigan
Looks like a fun conference to me![]()
