wow
will have to see about TW . i think they have to trade him since he wont play for them again (his words ) just need to get the right deal for himThis is why you trade T.W now if you hold out longer he can throw the retirement card trade him to the pats he will be happy we get 2 picks in the top 32 picks and move foward
Ruined in Cleveland, bright spots in Dallas. Career backup. In order how they were drafted
1. Luck
2. RG3
3. Tannehill
4. Weeden
5. Osweiler
6. Wilson
7. Foles
8- Cousins
In retrospect I doubt player 2 thru 5 even get selected had teams known ahead of time what they would become. Luck was not very (lucky) being drafted by the Colts. Had a team like the Cowboys gotten him with that O line they seem to always have he would have fared much better... but in the end it comes down to the player and Luck seemed to be a brittle player so I kinda label him a bust at this point. Turns out the draft should have gone like this IMO
1. Wilson- for five years he was a terror on the field with 2 SB... still a good QB with the right scheme.
Still a good QB with right scheme? WTF? Wilson is one of the best QB's in NFL right now.
2. Cousins- durable as all hell with a pure desire and the ability to move ball downfield. Unluckily drafted by wrong team.
Cousins reminds me of a good QB with the right scheme. Will always put up yards with his skill set.
3. Foles- Incredible back up who got lucky the starter got hurt,,, twice...with the ability to propel a team to ...yes,, two SB wins.
An underrated QB with the ability to lift his game during playoffs/SB. Much better QB then given credit for.
4. Luck- A brittle player but with the possibility of being a HOF'er if all the cards are perfectly aligned.
No longer a possibility. Career ended in disappointment by announcing his retirement and lack of desire to fight back through injury to continue and cement his legacy in the Hall. No longer a story.
5. Tannehill- A talented QB but truly is better suited in a back-up role.
Expectations placed on him too great. Journeyman QB at best.
6. RG3- An incredible threat with the right scheme in play but not a smart QB in decision making. Very brittle.
Incredible athletic ability when healthy. Not necessarily QB abilities/intuition to go with athletic ability.
7. Osweiler- A 6th round back-up at best. Has moments of greatness but over will bust.
Backup ability, will never be anything more.
8. Weeden- Go straight to jail do not pass go,,, nothing to see here.
I respect the decision Luck has made and understand why he is doing what he is. But the timing of the decision really screwed a team that drafted you and covered for you through your multiple issues while in the NFL. This team has basically made you a multimillionaire. By retiring one week before the season is to begin, The colts got no QB to speak of this year. I understand that decisions like this can happen with a revelation, but its still a tough one to swallow if you are the owner or a fan of the Colts.
No doubt he was going thru a lot. Again, I don't fault the decision. I fault the timing.Really hard to tell exactly what Luck was going through over the past few months. He seems like a really nice guy & a warrior so I don't believe that he made this decision lightly. Perhaps he was doing everything possible to prepare for this season but then just felt like it wasn't worth it especially if he believes that this could ruin his quality of life down the road.
Oh well - I have always respected this guy so I don't begrudge him anything (I sure hope that those Colts fans who booed him on Sat realize that they were wrong). I have no doubt that he will have lots of other opportunities if he decides to never play again.
Who cares? Off topic lounge material.
