Clearly you're a MLB fan and don't watch the NBA. Teams are battling hard for final playoff spots throughout the year. Jordan played during the most water downed time of the league where teams could just take off nights with all the weak competition.

Without Jordan the Bulls were close to beating the Knicks in the semis and probably would have if it weren't for a bogus foul call on Hubert Davis in game 5. Jordan came back the next year and got spanked by the Magic. After getting bounced out of the playoffs, the Bulls had get one of the best rebounders and defenders to ever play the game to help Jordan get to the finals again. Jordan without a super team around him would get trounced in today's game.
