Harvick moving up. Too many commercials. At least they have the “side by side.” Sometimes.....

WTH? I guess I looked at the wrong vid. Harvick wins the damn race in Michigan. Passed Logano with like 10 to go or something.

Michigan? There were probably fewer on-track passes for the lead today than there were in the most recent F1 race.

I’m glad we’re out of the big track part of the schedule.

Bristol ain’t what it used to be, but it’s still better than Michigan, but any race Harvick wins is a good race. Think that win tied him with Buck Baker on the all time list. I wonder how many wins he’d have by now if RCR equipment didn’t go to shit.

Dale Sr. and Harvick are the only drivers ever able to win more than a few races with RCR.

I haven't watched hardly any at all the past few years but judging from the standings, does anyone think it's time for Jimmie to hang it up and call it a career? He was a non threat last year and barely squeaked into the chase (with Knauss as CC) and this year he's on the outside looking in at the moment. Without Knauss and Lowe's as a sponsor, is it time for him to go? Even though I was never a big fan of his, I can't deny what the guy has done in his career and it always sucks to see great drivers hang on longer than they should.

Honestly, I think Johnson has been overrated by taking advantage of the system and weaker fields. He's definitely not in my top 5 all-time, and he might even struggle to be in the top 10. I agree that it's getting painful to hear about how badly he's doing (I haven't been watching much either).

Weaker fields? Are you serious? Kyle Busch is considered one of the best drivers of all time, yet Johnson has 28 more wins than he does.

Damn it, someone give Dibenedetto a ride. Fuck Leavine and JGR for screwing him out of a ride.

He didn't really get screwed though. It doesn't matter if he can drive a car. It matters if he can drive a car and bring a fat stack of cash with him. Bell is younger, has some promise and has backing. That's the business. Matt was in JGR equipment as a younger driver and didn't do much with it. He's only JUST now starting to seem decent and he's been at this for what, 10 years? It's not like if you gave him top equipment he'd start firing off wins and compete for championships. At best, maybe he's a Paul Menard type, a midpack driver who might bubble up and win a race or two under the right circumstance. Bell has done more at this stage in his career than Matt D had when he at that early stage of his career so its no surprise JGR is shuffling the chairs to make room for Bell. There's more potential and money there.

I think next year's rookie class might be the best ever. Better than Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman. Better than Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch. Better than Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell and Cole Custer are all really young and all look destined for greatness.

And unlike most of these other young up and comers, Reddick and Custer seem to have a personality.

And for the first time in his career, I was happy to see Denny Hamlin win.

Hours before the race I had a gut feeling about Matt Dibenedetto and was thinking about placing a small wager on him to win. I didn't check the odds, but I'm guessing a minimum bet of 25 bucks would have gotten a payday of over a grand if he would have won(my biggest sports betting cash came when I bet on Stenhouse to win at Talladega a couple years ago). I pussed out and wound up wasting 50 bucks on Kyle Larson. I would have been sick if Matty D would have won and I ignored my gut.

I'd argue the 2000's had one of the deepest fields of all time.

Jimmie, Jeff, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth and even huge seasons for guys like Mark Martin, Greg Biffle and Kasey Kahne.

That's 6 sure fire hall of famers and 3 that have a shot.

Some folks are just so blinded by their hatred of Johnson and Hendrick that they can't fully comprehend just how dominant they were from 2006-2010. 28 wins (15%), 81 top 5's (45%), 117 top 10's (65%), 11 DNF (6%).
For comparison:
Gordon- 9 wins, 75 top 5's, 109 top 10's, 18 DNF.
Stewart- 15 wins, 60 top 5's, 98 top 10's, 13 DNF.
Kyle Busch- 17 wins, 57 top 5's, 96 top 10's, 11 DNF.
Edwards- 14 wins, 56 top 5's, 95 top 10's, 14 DNF.
Kenseth- 8 wins, 50 top 5's, 90 top 10's, 10 DNF.
Hamlin- 16 wins, 61 top 5's, 94 top 10's, 11 DNF .
Harvick- 9 wins, 47 top 5's, 89 top 10's, 4 DNF.

Hate Johnson because he was dominant? I get that. Hate him because you think he is overrated? That's just ignorant.
