Qbs I think are better than Dak (in no particular order)

Brees
Brady
Luck
Ben
Rodgers
Rivers
Ryan
Cam
Wentz
Russ
Goff
Mahomes
Watson

That is already 13 and is he even better than Jameis, Stafford, and Baker?

Is he better than Winston? Don't be a clown.

I don't get why people think 32-33 is too much for Dak. Sure in a vacuum it's insane but this isn't a vacuum. NFL QBs make stupid money . His tag number will be 33M minimum if Dallas goes that route and probably 34-35 if they do it twice . So if you're not willing to pay him that per year now you may as well trade him to a team that will . There's no reason for Dak to sign for 30 million per when he will make 67-68 million guaranteed the next 2 years ( after this year ) worst case and then sign for 30+ million per year after that even if he's just pretty good as 30 million will be fringe top 10 salary in 3 years .

He'd be burning money by signing for anything less than 33M per year
Tag goes up 20% minimum if tagged twice, right? The reason for the player to sign a contract over the tag is to get the signing bonus immediately and in case of injury. It's mostly the guaranteed money, not the total $'s.

But you are right. Most fans still don't understand NFL contracts and in particular QB contracts. The next man up is going to break the bank and his pay will be much higher than some other QBs that have already signed that are better than him. It's as if they haven't watched what has happened the last couple of years. I've said this before. Trent Brown gets $16.5M per year and more than any other OL. Is he the best OL in the NFL? Is he even top 10? Heck, I'm not sure he is top 20

So he is 14th in your list which is fine. Borderline a top 15 QB or just outside.

Not close to being worth the money he is asking for.

Better than Dak on that list? Ok, that's subjective so whatever (except Jameis). However, tell me which of those on that list you would be looking to offer a multi year contract to. Would you be offering a 5/150 deal to Brees, Ben, Brady, or Rivers? Rogers? I wouldn't.

So you think Arizona would trade a RB who is already signed and is a perfect back for the modified Air Raid to get the pleasure of breaking the bank, tip toeing Roger Goodell and that he doesn’t fit in the offense?
In a millisecond they would

All except Stafford and Winston probably.

Well lol the only reason the answer to this is no is because they're all old as fuck.

I could see signing for 6 years 180M with 140ish guaranteed. That's a reasonable deal for both and would likely be very team friendly by the end and still let Dak get a huge deal on his next contract but short term ( next 3 years ) you still couldn't resign everyone you want to if you're Dallas . The more I think about this the more I think you've got to at least explore trading Zeke
$140M guaranteed? Holy crap! That would not be a smart move. I'm more worried about the guaranteed money than I am the total $'s. I think it comes in between $100M and $110M guaranteed.

Several players on that list that haven't done as much, but I would probably take all of them over Dak….Winston, no, Stafford, probably not, and Baker?...I liked the rookie yr, but I need to see more than one yr.

At the end of the day, Dak is a middle of the league talent at the position.

When does he lose his accrued year of service ? If he's not back by then he may as well sit the whole year
For Free Agency, he's already lost it. To get his 2019 salary out of the equation I believe he's gotta play 6 games, but I did read he only had to play 3 games.
See he can't sit the whole season, if he does he's right back to where he started. 2020 would be his 4th year salary and 2021 would become his 5th year option.

I'm not sure whose driving the $40 mil per number, but it's means squat in the NFL...If Jerry's offer is in the $100-$110 mil range, guaranteed cash, he should hold firm. There's no way he gets more on the open market. Most of the bad teams all have new young high draft picks.

Yup he is either just in the top 15 or just outside. As you said, middle of the league talent.

Dude should take that 30 mil Dallas offered and run with it

No reason he would sign a contract for less.

Back to back tags will be more than 66, guarenteed money.

The issue with the tag is that it isn't guaranteed money, though. You don't get the guarantee until the offseason before when you actually get tagged and then sign it. Until then, any injury or horrific year can cost you dearly. To say he has a guaranteed 66M is incorrect, because if he has a career ending injury this year he is screwed and never sees the tag. In that case getting a long term deal with more guaranteed but maybe less over the next two years is a better option. I've never understood the Florio's of the world that say "two years of tag are $X so anything less is leaving money on the table". I'd rather have a 4 year deal with $100M at signing and maybe a bit more guaranteed for injury than a 1 year $25M and then second at $40M once I survive the first season.

The only thing I can see hold him up could be the guaranteed money...battling for another $10 mil per just doesn't seem reasonable at all for his production.

I mean arm talent alone you could say Baker is right there with him, but the 2nd year is the deciding factor. Still think Baker is better.
Stafford is iffy.
Jameis, nah. He has lived up to expectations.

All the other on that list I agree with but I don't think Cam Newton is a given. Still way too inconsistent. Cam is right there with Stafford for me.

I don't know . NFL changes quick man . If Murray is as good as AZ thinks he is then all bets are off. No one would've said " hey I think the Rams are 2 years from a SB " going into 17 or " hey o think the Eagles win it all in 17 " going into 15. Shit changes quick in this league with the right QB especially if you give them a great RB.

4 years of Murray and Zeke seems like a good deal to me and Dallas wouldn't do much better than DJ and a 2/3 especially given Zeke's off field concerns

I can see that argument. I am still on the fence when it comes to Murray. I think he has bust written all over him. Not because of talent.....he has loads of that. I think his height is going to be a major problem for him. While Drew Brees has managed to overcome it I have seen many highlights of him standing on his toes to try to see over lineman. Brees is listed at 6'0 tall..and I think that is being generous. Kyler Murray is listed at 5'10 which is 2 inches shorter than Brees, I read somewhere that he was actually 5'9 but don't quote me on that.
