WIN Nebraska wins 35-31

this is going to be a close game. Neither team will dominate. I think the Nebraska
offense is better than the Minnesota defense enough for the win.

Players to Watch

QB tanner Morgan only because their other QB was just injured, so is he the guy?
WR Tyler Johnson
WR Rashod Bateman
RB Mohamed Ibrahim

DE Carter Coughlin
S Antoine Winfield

Position Comparisons

OL Nebraska
QB Nebraska
RB Minnesota
TE Nebraska
WR Minnesota

DL Northwestern
LB Nebraska
CB Nebraska
Safeties Minnesota

Kicking game - Nebraska Minnesota has to replace their best kicker ever
Punting - Nebraska

This is the game that decides what Nebraska's season will be and the same can be said for Minnesota. If Nebraska gets the win, then the team will believe. By this time, Nebraska should know who the starting RB is.

Minnesota lost QB Annexstad for the year possibly, so the starting job is now Tanner Morgan's. Tanner is a scrambler which posed problems for Nebraska the last four years.

Minnesota went 4-2 at home in 2018.

Even with a loss to Nebraska in 2019, Minnesota's schedule has cupcake written all over it. Playing S Dakota State, Fresno State, Ga Southern, Illinois, Rutgers, and Maryland
is basically 6 wins without even trying.

Nebraska destroyed Minnesota for the first win of Scott Frost's Nebraska career. But that was a bad DC.
Just like Nebraska's end of season turn around, Minnesota figured out defense once they fired their original D Coordinator.

Minnesota went 3-1 the last four games, including a bowl win. The defense held
Purdue to 10, Wisconsin to 15, and G Tech to 10 in victories, Nebraska gave up 42 to Purdue
and 41 to Wisconsin.

Minnesota could be 5-0 coming into the game. Their first three games are wins, and they probably win
at Purdue, because Purdue will still be looking for a QB.

X factor in this game will be Wandale Robinson.

Is Minny allowed to use Northwestern's D-line? :D

Was Minnesota exposed last night? Can coaching fix their problems? I hope not. Minnesota was luck. Let's not forget that without Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska almost lost to McNeese State in 2014.

Tanner Morgan is the QB I thought he was. Average.

South Dakota State held Minnesota to 132 yards rushing. That was supposed to be Minnesota's strong point.

South Dakota State ran for 174 and averaged 5.1 yards per carry. Nebraska should be able to top that.

Is South Dakota State better coached than Nebraska?
Does South Dakota State have a better defensive scheme than Nebraska?
Does South Dakota State have better athletes than Nebraska? I know a lot of their players are from Nebraska.

Now, I wait to see what Nebraska does against South Alabama. South Dakota State is probably a better team than South Alabama.

I feel much more confident after sort of looking at the Minnesota game and seeing how bad they looked.

ps. no mention of Northwestern

S. Dakota St. is ranked #3 in the FCS poll, but that game went down to the wire. Minny's lines are not where they need to be to threaten for the Big 10 west.
Football Championship Subdivision Polls | STATS | FCS Football

I remember the Jackrabbits giving Bo Pelini's Huskers a tough time in the 1st Q back in the 4th game of 2013. However, Nebraska pulled away from the 2nd Q to win 50-29. Martinez was hurt and it was Tommy Armstrong's first start. Ron Kellogg also saw playing time in that game.

We'll have to see, but it doesn't look too promising for Minny having to go to Fresno St next week.

yea, i watched for a little while. I saw SDSU expose the outside of Minny's D several times for 6-8yds and just kept thinking how NU's talent probably could have turned those plays into 15-20yds.

0830191428a.jpg Watching Minny flop against an FCS last night was enough to nudge me over to the Horseshoe and place a wager on Nebraska over 8.5.

Toughest road games now just look like Colorado and Purdue.

Split those and win at least two home games against either Ohio St, Northwestern, Wiscy, or Iowa, and I should be good.

Purdue struggling with Nevada tonight makes the 8.5 look even better.

I was there in the Riley years, and you all had Zombie Weekend going on. Surprisingly, Nebraska won. That must have been 2015.

Not attending this year. I probably am not going to make a game this year. We had a crazy August/September with traveling and next week my wife and I head to Colorado for a socializing event. Hopefully, my wife stops committing me to trips and crap. Although she does have relatives in Maryland...... I should be able to easily get a ticket to that game.

Minnesota opens (-6.5) at home over Nebraska.

Now (-7)

I was thinking it would be more in the -3.5 or -4 range.

I guess Minnie clocking Illinois (40-17) is the difference.

Minnesota has been lucky but got it rolling vs Illinois. .

After Nebraska beat Illinois, Nebraska was steam rolled by Ohio State.

Minnesota gets to face a Nebraska team that might be without Adrian Martinez, might be without JD Spielman, doesn't seem to have a run game, offensive line problems, can't throw the ball deep, the left outside linebacker is questionable, no kicker..........

Minnesota right tackle is 6' 9" 410 lbs. Or something like that.

One team is getting all the breaks this year, one team isn't.

go with the team getting all the breaks.
