LA fans have always been fair weather, especially when it comes to college sports.

MLB attendance
Dodgers 2.35 million (1st place as usual every year)

LA has always been a Dodger/Lakers town.
You cannot go 10 feet without seeing a Dodger cap or Laker jersey.

beaches, mountains, 8 fucking pro-teams, 2 college teams, restaurants, national parks, Disneyfuckingland, museums, movie studios, and endless things to do

365 glorious beautiful humidity free 75 degree sunny days

It is amazing anyone wants to waste time at a sporting event, yet alone a UCLA football game.

Football has been a dying sport in California for decades. D-1 programs Long Beach St., Fullerton St. and College of the Pacific all dropped their football programs in the 1990's, lesser programs UC-Santa Barbara & Cal. St. - Los Angeles dropped theirs in the 1970's. Some D-2 programs like Chico St. and a few others shed their programs a while back; and Northridge St., Cal Poly Pomona & UC-Riverside dropped theirs just before or just after moving up to 1-AA from D-2. Santa Clara's FB program was another victim. San Jose St. could be the next to fall.

Hey AlaskaGuy, my sister in law is attending UW this year and my wife's family just moved out to Seattle. We're planning on coming out to the Mich/UW game next year and I'm pretty pumped about it. It will be my first ever road UM game.
Make sure to hit Pike Place Market and the waterfront.

One is not like the others

Pretty much this. In most college towns, Saturdays in the fall revolve around the football game. In LA, it might not even crack the top5 of stuff going on.

Additionally, the list of year-round activities available to Southern California residents trumps any other FBS school.

The more competition you have from other activities, the harder it is to sell out a football game.

Is there still a pro football team in Los Angeles? They move around out there so much it's hard to keep track.

Two now actually, The Rams and The Chargers.

That's right. I remember the Rams recently moved back. I guess that means St.Louis is teamless, again.

It's sad that the Chargers couldn't stay in San Diego.

The Raiders are back in Oakland for now, right; but soon to be moving to Las Vegas?

I don't follow pro football all that much.

I think next season (2020), was in Vegas a few months ago, their new stadium looked about half way done.

The state of California invited a poison into their state and it hasn't been the same since.

The Trojans have been averaging approx. 25,000 empty seats per home game for the past several years.

The new $315 million renovation project finishing up in a few weeks will reduce stadium capacity by approx. 16,000 seats due to more legroom, wider seats, more luxury boxes.

I imagine the renovated stadium will attract more fans who wish to experience the new digs.

USC averaged 72,580 attendance from 2013-2017, Not great but no where near 25,000 empty seats per home game.
