I think this is the most wide open the Eastern Conference has been in a decade. Hopefully they get a better representative in the Finals than the Orlando Magic. Don't need to be reminded of that Magic vs Lakers finals.

OKC got to trade Russ now

I think Westbrook is an amazing player, but I can’t see any team mortgaging their future to add him.

I think he will play out his contract in OKC putting up 50 shots a game and padding his personal stats. I just don’t see him as a guy who will ever win anything in the NBA — he is too worried about his own numbers.

5 number one picks
4 of them unprotected
2 very good NBA player
2 pick swaps

All for PAUL GEORGE??

That is some Herschel Walker level nonsense. You could build an expansion team with that haul.

I would not necessarily call that "genius" without seeing how it unfolds.

Not really.

Deal paved the way for perhaps multiple championships.

The distant firsts could prove valuable or they could prove to be late 20s and the swaps could be worthless if the Clips are still good 6 years from now.

Great trade for LA. Completely worth the future risk.

Westbrook should demand a trade to the Lakers now. Lol

Although they have nothing to trade...

I wouldn't want Russ at all on my team. Volume shooter who always needs the ball in his hand.

How is this an NBA Finals lock??

They are a depleted overall roster big two in a crowded field of big twos in the West
And they wont have cap space or draft picks for a decade.

Lebron and AD have a shit ton of cash to flesh out their roster now.
Curry, Thompson, Draymond, Russell are not going anywhere.
Did the Rockets duo of CP3/Harden break up?
The Spurs have Derozan + Aldridge and a deluge of depth assets.
The Nuggets have Joker and Murray.
Portland is feeling it with Lillard and McCollum.

And often injured Kawhi cannot take off his normal 20 games "to rest" or they could end up a 7 seed with limited depth.

They aren’t really depleted.

They kept their best 2 players + Beverly

Lou, Harrell, Beverly, PG Kawhi

Is nasty

Kawhi wanted this all quiet with the teams he met with. The only team that had no leaks about the meeting was the Clippers. Lakers fucked themselves with how much info from their meeting leaked. Helicopters followed Kawhi in Toronto and whatever else went on.

Bottom line........Jerry West is the fucking man.

I don't think Kawhi was ever interested in going to the Lakers. Just didn't seem to fit his personality playing 3rd wheel to AD and Lebron.

Kawhi fucked the Lakers over. He had his plan in place since Monday. It was all about the Clippers finding a way to get PG

He did.

But the waiting makes sense.

He had to give the Clips time.

Im disgusted with Paul George. This is much lower than what KD did to Russ. At least KD was a free agent meeting with other teams so Russ had to know it was a possibility. This shit had to blindside him

Reports were quiet until now,

But they say PG and Russ did not get along.

Is that really a shocker?

The Clippers have a solid roster. I wouldn't say they're a Finals lock. But if I had to put money on it, I'd put it on the Clippers. The Lakers basically gave the rest of the cash to Danny Green and KCP.

So, who gets WESTBROOK now?? OKC has to do the right thing and try to trade him to a contender.

The draft pick haul is staggering, but Westbrook is 31 years old. They wont make the playoffs before his prime runs out.

Honestly,

They aren’t going to get a lot if the they deal him. Not anything close to what they got for PG anyway

Although I agree, weren't there rumors about the two not getting along? Also, I think it's time Thunder fans start looking at Russ wondering why no one wants to play alongside him.

Fuck russ. He's a punkass dead end teammate and Paul George realized he had to get the hell out of there, and when this opportunity came along, he knew he had to try and get away from that loser

Kawhi and PG basically did that "it's not you, it's me" shit on the Lakers.

Lakers are basically the Knicks but just with lipstick.

The Lakers are significantly better than the Knicks

unless Westbrook asks out i think they keep him.

Westbrook does not seem like a guy that needs to slither and snake to a super team. I am sure he is fine busting his ass in OKC, getting his shots, getting his money with a fan base that absolutely loves him for his loyalty.

That's because he gets to call the shots in OKC with no one looking over him. They're the ones stuck in perpetual mediocrity. Three straight years, three first round playoff exits. And they just traded the most solid player from the team last year.

Westbrook doesn't asked to be traded to another team to form a super team, because he knows he wouldn't be able to get away with the shit that he does in OKC.

I get people hate the lakers but worse record than last year? You do realize they have 2 top 5 players right? Also got 2 shooters which is something they were missing last year right?

That and what sunk the Lakers last year was the AD rumors. The team never regained its balance. Pretty sure they won't have to go through that this year. I think LA is a 4-seed next year.
