"I described Jonathan Hernandez's brilliant May 31 start (7 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 10 SO) as an outlier a few days ago. I didn't write about him potentially converting to relief then, but it crossed my mind. Like Jose Leclerc, Luke Jackson, and some others, he's carried a "relief candidate" tag since his low-A days, and he's had his troubles in AA. But then, every so often, he dominates the entire evening. Only once in seven innings did he face more than three batters, and he had only three three-ball counts. Hernandez is in the middle of his second option year."

At the most I think they see minor league depth that they think they may be able to fix. Those numbers don’t look like MLB worthy

Looks like Santana’s presence might be lighting a fire under odor and condor’s asses.

Santana still deserves to be in the lineup almost everyday tho unless he totally craters.
