he is now 2-7 and will be an all star, maybe the AL starter.

2-7
3.52 ERA
0.96 WHIP

84 IP
61 hits
20 walks
120 k's

his last 10 starts:

66 IP
38 hits
106 k's (1.6 k's/IP)
.162 BAA
2.17 ERA

sale is 2-3 in the above games. he should have 8-10 wins.

Pepperidge farms remembers when Chris Sale was DED and couldn't throw over 90 en sech
good lord. the other board i was posting at. unreal. "we pay sale to win games". over and over. i show stats, Babip, BAA, etc....nothing but shit.

its why im back here. sales probably the hardest luck starter in MLB. i think they dont even give him 3 runs a game of support.

Ah, yes! The annual Chris Sale Is Going To Win The Cy Young, MVP, Gold Glove, Batting Title and Silver Slugger Awards from Rock.

Just a matter of time until Sale breaks down in the 2nd half, or the Indians break one off in his ass.

him or what gioloto? cole? verlander? odorizzi? chirinos? could be anyone really.

sale is 2nd in the AL in k's (2nd in k's/9 to cole by a slim margin)
4th in WHIP
6th in OPS against
5th in BAA

and thats overall, not his last 10, where he has been nearly untouchable.

It’ll be Verlander unless he takes a massive shit in the next month.

Otherwise Giolito, Odorizzi, Morton, Minor, Montas are all guys to place ahead of him.

He’s got such ground to make up. He’s basically got to hope he’s elite for another month to even have a shot at starting imo

I even saw a projected all star team that didn’t even have a guy like Gerrit Cole on it. I find that hard to ultimately believe tho

if its by wins, cole and sale have 7 combined. both hard luck so far. wins is a shit measure, as i watched matt fucking barnes blow another sale W.

I always assumed teams like the Red Sox who have been there many times would be immune to hangovers

For as bad as Sale was the first couple starts, it's mildly remarkable how good his peripherals are in early June.
this is what im getting at. his first 4 starts:

0-4
18 IP
23 hits
17 ER
5 walks
14 k's
8.50 ERA
.311 BAA
.316 BaBip

his last 10 starts:

66 IP
38 hits
106 k's (1.6 k's/IP)
.162 BAA
2.17 ERA
.260 BaBip

its a remarkable turnaround.

And he still doesn't throw anyone besides himself under the bus

I don't think he'll start the All Star Game though. Red Sox offense has let him down a lot

Strikeouts! The pitcher equivalent of shiny objects for stupid fans. May as well; home runs and strikeouts are all the dumb fans care about.

Also, how rare is it that a Red Sox or Yankee isn’t in the AS Game? Complete popularity contest and nothing else.

so, its "stupid" to prefer no contact, no ball in play, and an out vs a chance at an error?

a strikeout eliminates the batter entirely. errors happen. k's eliminate errors mostly (sans a passed ball). sale has prevented 120 guys form making contact and putting a ball in play.

K's are not home runs.
