Djokovic vs Cilic

Tsitipas vs. Alexander Zverev

Federer vs. Thiem

Wawrinka vs. Nadal

Wow.

I'd probably give the edge to Thiem, but if FED can win, it would be a great win.

This does not mean Nole will cruise to the final. Tsitsipas is a younger version of him. He should beat Zverev.

Too bad about Cilic. Hopefully he's ready for Italy.

I saw the 3rd set of FED vs. Thiem.

Great match, there were 3 breaks of serve between them.

Thiem won.

FED looked comfortable, now overmatched.

FED was down 4 times in the match 0 - 40. Let's see if he can avoid those situations more often.

FED is 186 - 20 after today on clay when winning the first set.

His serve is not reliable when he is down in the service game. Also he tends to go down a break after breaking. This is when you have to do some time wasting to regroup because of how crucial the next hold is. His backhand was firing from both cylinders which is good to see. Let’s see what happens in the next event.

Yeah, his shots and movement were great.

FED does like to play fast. He doesn't like to sit and regroup.

I always thought Clijsters played too fast sometimes too. Maybe it helped them though, because if they sat and thought about it, they would think too much.

If he can hang with Thiem like he did, he should be able to beat most players.

Fed’s problem is lapses in focus where he breaks or breaks back and then goes down 0-30 or 0-40 in his service game. This has been the pattern on every surface other than grass ( in grass also he has suffered this fate but rarer )

This kid is sooooo overrated. Loses again to a nobody 7-5,7-5. Don’t know he keeps being ranked in the top five.

Serena has pulled out ahead of her match with sis, since they now meet much earlier in the draw it’s easier to pull out I guess.

Let's compare Zverev results to what he did last year at this point

Aussie Open- 3rd round in 2018 and 4th this year
Mexico- Semi finals in 2018 and made it to the finals this year
Indian Wells- 2nd round in 2018 and 3rd round this year
Miami- Finals in 2018 and 2nd round this year
Played a tournament he didn't last year in Morocco. Made it to the 2nd round which automatically helps him as he had no point to defend from last year.
Monte Carlo-Semi finals in 2018 and 3rd round this year.
Germany- Won the title in 2018 and QF this year.
Barcelona- DNP in 2018 and 2nd round this year. Another tourney which doesn't hurt as he had no points to defend
Madrid- Won the title in 2018 and QF this year.
Rome- Made the finals and 2nd round this year.

So to sum it up, after Indian Wells, he has been shit for the most part but up until Indian Wells, he was actually performing better compared to last year in the first 3 months. Him playing in 2 tournaments he didn't play last year kinda helps him but if he keeps performing worse than he did last year for the rest of season then he'll def not be a top 10 player at the end of year.
