So it's just an odd coincidence? Yeah...I disagree on that one. The whole look in my eyes and hand placement from Jamie would just be weird if they weren't going for something.
but it was never part of the prophecy on the show, so it would make no sense. She is never told her younger brother will kill her by the witch on the show.

and it is an intimate scene, where do you want his hands to be?

The only story arc last night that didn't fit was Jaime's. It just didn't make sense for him to run back to Cersei to save her based on his story arc.

I see a lot of people complaining about Dany's heel turn as if it was not he most likely outcome. Obviously this was the end that Martin envisioned.

Now it certainly felt rushed and perhaps unearned but I don't think there was any real way to make it feel earned. Doing so would have made it far to obvious what was going to happen and ruin the entire moment.
They could have blurred the lines some. Breaking Bad showed Walter white doing horrible things by the end of the show but it was such a great transition over time that each move felt right or at least logical at that time. This was more like having Walter kill 12 prison inmates and poisoning a kid in season 1.

Tyrion the genius strikes again! If somebody doesn't verbally inform us how smart he is in the finale, I'll be sorely disappointed.

Euron was easily the most WTF character a TV show has ever seen. How he died was fitting because of everything that invoved him's ludicrous nature. I hope that actor at least got paid well. Good God.

Walter White was one of 2 protagonists in BB. He didn't have to split screen time with 5-8 other major characters each with their own separate plot lines.

I don't think there was any real way of doing it with Dany, given how much screen time she had, without making it a fait accompli.

If you look at her story arc and her screen time, however, it was pretty clear where things were headed.

If she would have started out down that path earlier, she wouldn't be where she is now. She gained her following by being loved. She may not have the Dothraki or Unsullied if she started that turn before arriving to Westeros.

he was convenient for a time...but that's it.

the ending of this show reminds me too much of Sons of Anarchy right now. They are just racing to the finish line.

So a little girl is walking around with a white horse toy....then a white horse shows up and magically saves Arya. Did the toy come to life or something?

or they could kill off everyone and dissolve monarchy in favor of democracy.

Only if we get a real estate/casino tycoon to take the presidency role.

He was clearly over the top. The book version of him(Victarion) was my least interesting character in part because he seemed absurd as well although not to the same degree as TV Euron.

HBO and Martin wanted 3 more seasons and were willing to throw the checkbook at them to continue.

There was time to develop her character evolution properly.
