Kris Richard reportedly pressed Cowboys to take Trysten Hill over safety

I can't believe a word from Broaddus, especially with this from the story.

“When they took Mike Weber at the end,” Broaddus revealed, “Mike Weber’s got a third-, fourth-round grade on their board.”


So now if Weber truly had a 3rd round grade, all the guys before him had at least 3rd round grades or the Cowboys didn't always go best available.

This article also says the Cowboys added 15 undrafted free agents who had draftable grades on their board. Their board has been pretty damn good lately. I stand by my previous statement that they killed it there and some of those guys will make the 53 or practice squad GnG

With 15 UDFA's I would hope a few of them make the 53 man roster or practice squad.

I don't believe Broaddus either. If the guy was rated so high he wouldn't have been available as an UDFA.

When I look at our picks I think mcgovern is going to be a steal. He is awesome at run blocking. Hill could be a steal,just not sure about him although i see lots of potential. Pollard and weber i also like. .

Weber looks better than Randle. Weber has good vision. With the addition of Pollard and weber I think jackson is gone. The cowboys upgraded what is behind zeke. It is sad that garrot is going to hold this offense back.

I'm not disputing they upgraded, I'm questioning the BAP claim.

Why the Hell not? The Cowboys have drafted better than any team in the NFL the last 5-6 years. They took talented players. Everything I have read about Hill is explosion and quickness, potential. McGovern looks like a 10 year starter type to me. I wasn't big on the RB from Memphis, but OK. I absolutely loved the Michael Jackson and Joe Jackson picks, I think both kids are eventual starters. Wilson and Jelks are dark horses to make the roster, and the Cowboys had 4th round grade on Weber, who they took in round 7. Of the UDFA's, the Cowboys had a round 4 grade on Wise, round 5 on Hyatt, 6 on Westry, Johnson and Walker. Westry is a 6'4'' corner that ran a 4.35, great physical fit for Coach Richard's secondary. Guyton ran 4.35. Brandon Knight was a solid college player. For a team without a 1st round pick, I thought this was a fantastic draft.

I'm skeptical that's how it went down as compared to someone asking if he was OK with it. But, I think he knows he is already in a DC timeshare and going to be FT soon so I guess looking at the big picture makes sense. Or Heath now has pics of him too. Heath must be a hacker or something...

That GM must be on crack. All the draft sites I just searched had Wilkins higher than Hill.
