Noticed that Martin Perez pitched 8 inning so of shutout ball against the Astros tonight. His ERA coming out of the pen to start the year ballooned to 7.56 but after starting now for 4 games has lowered it to 3.41. He drove me crazy but I heard a few weeks ago on Fox Sports North that they had made a change in his delivery that increased his velocity.

Brocail was an epic failure. Probably the worst pitching coach we’ve ever had.

Neither Crouse nor Alexy pitched well. There were some offensive standouts in tonight's games.

Sam Huff hit his 13th HR. 18 year old Jonathan Ornelas got three hits for Hickory to raise his average to .359. Tejeda, Taveras, and Arias all had multiple hits for Down East. Arias has his average up to 351.

Thanks for the update. Nice on the position players but of course I would liked to have seen the positive results go to the pitchers but that is just one game.

By the way, that name Sam Huff. For us oldies that name rings a bell in the football world.

All these offdays are nice for our pitching staff, but it feels like we’ve had too many in just the first month.

Loved the guy. A favorite for sure was Kitten Face.
Hated seeing him go to the A's, never got a fair shake here, these were his best 2 years here, basically played the equivalent of a full season over 2 seasons, I'd kill for that in CF now (6.2 WAR over 2 seasons)

Played pretty well against RHPs and LHPs, didn't have extreme splits

Honestly didn't think his offensive numbers were as good as they were. But he was terrific with the glove, and seemed to be a good guy off the field too.

Made about $7 mil and gets a nice pension. Good for him!

Definition of a glue guy, great hustle, great defense in CF, took a walk, stole bases, and didn't strike out much

We’ve covered the change in the closer role, but what about the lineup?

Do you guys think odor gets moved down? It doesn’t look like he can handle the pressure or expectations of hitting #2.

Move him down and if no positive results then down to AAA

Hoping he doesn’t get the Banny or wash treatment where we run him out there to bash his head against the wall and fail for another 100 games.
