At least I'm calling it the game of the week.

Michigan State's defense is for real. Better than I thought they were. This could be the first time we see Russell Wilson frustrated this season.

I can't make many assumptions about Wisconsin's defense at this point, because they have played attrocious offenses with the exception of Nebraska's..........and Nebraska moved the ball at will for the first 20 minutes, and then stalled for the remainder of the game.

As of right now, I do believe Wisconsin's defense is a good defense, but not a great defense. I think Kirk Cousins will finally get them on their heels a bit. I'm looking for a close game.

Wisconsin - 24
Michigan State - 20

Michigan State takes a 20-17 lead late into the 4th quarter........

What say you?

We shall see :D

I am personally pulling for Wisconsin, because honestly I want to see Nebraska win out and play an undefeated Wisconsin for the Big 10 Championship.

Asides from Wisconsin, the rest of the B10 ranges from mediocre to horrific. Wisconsin should roll.

Michigan State's offense sucks, so Wisconsin should hold them to around 10

Wisconsin's offense has too many weapons for Michigan State's defense to hold them down.

Wisconsin 38
Michigan State 10

Wisconsin 45 MSU 17. Wisconsin is 3 scores better ( at least ) than any other team in the B10 and may be 2 scores better than anyone in the country although Ill reserve judgemnet on that for a bit.

I think that we are significantly better than Michigan State. People are talking about their defense, but they haven't played a great balanced offense like ours yet. I don't think that their D-Line is near as good as our O-Line, and with Russell's mobility, he'll probably have 5-6 seconds to throw the ball. I just can't see MSU's D-Backs keeping our receivers at bay very long.

On the defensive side of the ball, i'm a little more concerned, but still not super concerned. They haven't looked very good outside of Cunningham, and with the way Fenelus is playing, I can't see him having a great game against us. Borland and Taylor have been fairly invaluable against the run. Outside of a missed read by Taylor last week, they have shut down the run ever since the opener. With the revenge factor in play, I fully expect these guys to come out ready to dominate.

Much like the Nebraska game, I feel that it is possible that we lose, but only if we beat ourselves. Dropped balls, Special Teams Errors, Turnovers, and Penalties need to be limited. I expect they will be, so i'll call the final score as

Wisconsin 41
MSU 17

Don't like our chances the way Wisky is playing, but I won't be completely suprised if MSU makes it interesting.

Strickly a homer pick. Wisconsin takes Michigan State for granted. Michigan State suprises and takes Winconsin of their game.

There is a 0% chance of Wisky taking MSU for granted after last year. MSU is going to get rolled BIG TIME.

I never make serious predictions because I played football at a fairly high level (not professionally). I know that if the Right Guard is having a bad day it can change the entire complextion of the game. Wisconsin is the better team ... the better team does not always win. I would give you an intelligent prediction, but that would mean I would have to understand everything going on with every player and how it impacts them - not gonna happen.

MY PREDICTION STILL STANDS:
MICHIGAN STATE - 27
WISCONSIN - 10

hmmmm...

I don't know... maybe closer than I originally thought... or outright MSU win....

Looking at last years stats.... could be something brewing here with this being Wisconsin's first road game of the year...

Not sure if Wiscy fans feel their team is better than last year or about the same.... as well as MSU being better or same?

That game was an anomaly. Chris Borland had just gotten hurt, as had two starters on our offensive line. Nick Toon played, but was still nowhere near 100% after an injury kept him out two games. My memory sucks now, but I feel like there were at least two other starters injured (maybe on the D-Line).

Anyways, our defense was completely off that day. Our linebackers outside of Taylor looked completely lost, as did our D-Line outside of JJ. The offensive side was even worse. Scott Tolzien threw 25 passes that day. Seven were dropped by wide open receivers, including four on third downs that would have led to first downs. They also returned a punt for a TD.

Even with all of this, MSU had to convert two fourth downs on their last drive to stop our offense from coming back on the field with a chance to win and three minutes left. In other words, we played our D- game and were still very much in it until they scored a TD with 2:43 left.

And we are much better than we were at that point last year. Michigan State is probably slightly worse, though they have the potential to be better. Much like last year, MSU can win, but it will require us at least partially beating ourselves.

We're a bit better than last year, definitely more balanced on offense and better on defense, IMO.

They were flat as hell coming out last year too, and a bit banged up. Clay wasn't 100%, coaches hadn't discovered Montee Ball yet, Nick Toon sucked coming back from injury, our starting TE was out, as well as a bunch of linemen on both sides, etc. They also had a punt return TD that made the margin of victory wider than it looked watching the game, and needed a really strong drive at the end with a 4th down conversion to go up by 10 after the momentum had shifted to Wisco.
