Dr. Andrews, the same guy that checked Griffin's knee said Sweat is good to go. :noidea:

OK, we need a safety, WR and some o-line help.. and I can be excited... well sort of.

Not much left in this draft with that trade, but I'll bet that they somehow make a move to get a WR!

Still have 7 picks

2 3rd rounders, 2 5ths a 6th and 2 7ths

Not sure who will slide to the 3rd, but a CB or WR would be sweet.

O-line might have to wait

WR.....I think you gotta hope Butler or Harmon fall to 76 or you take both 3rds and trade into the 2nd and draft Deebo, or DK. If not you can get a really good guard at 76.

Yeah, I think that LG will come later if at all. (I'm keeping an eye on OT Cody Ford (Oklahoma) who can and has played LG.

Here's a look:
PROJECTION: Second Round
Boasts a rare combination of size, strength and athleticism, including terrific initial quickness that belies his average 40-yard dash time. Versatile blocker with experience at guard (seven starts at left guard), as well as right tackle (14). Fires off the snap, generating movement due to his power and leverage. Keeps his feet driving through contact and looks to intimidate, knocking opponents to the turf when he senses them off-balance. Easy lateral agility to mirror rushers and possesses the length (34" arms) to operate outside, if needed.

Ford has only 25 career starts (including seven at guard) with plenty of technical flaws still left to correct, suggesting that he's just scratching the surface of his potential. He operated in a spread scheme against questionable Big 12 competition, which is why many scouts believe he's best suited being protected inside at guard early in his NFL career and perhaps moving back outside later. While possessing long arms, Ford doesn't always play to his length, allowing opponents to dictate the action too much.

I was actually referring to the talent level which now begins to drop off in terms of finding upgrades. Good players are left but not a lot of impact players/ immediate starters. For our needs there might be a WR or two left that can come in and start, We might have to convert an OT to guard if we are looking for a starting LG. Safety? I don't think that there's one out there that I like as an immediate impact type guy. Finally, the corners are still out there but you have to wonder why they've been passed up!

Now that's just revisionist history.

Griffin was a monumental bust but he was also a legitimately fantastic prospect.
On the surface, yes. Griffin looked like a fantastic prospect. But just like falling for that hot chick that is bat shit crazy, he looked good from a far but once up close, he had some major warts. Most everyone was looking past those warts, or chose not to acknowledge them because he looked so damn good on the surface. Me included. But the warts were always there.

Kerry Collins. Right?

Kerry Collins was the last Big 10 QB drafted in the first round. There have been some good Big 10 QBs like Brady, Brees and Cousin's …. just not drafted in the 1st round. :D

now my thoughts , getting haskins at 15 was fantastic !!!. great move staying patient and waiting for the draft to come to them rather then listening to the pundits . you will see a video coming out about as a kid he was on tape talking about going to OSU as a QB

his dream is to be a redskin so that is a plus

the Sweat trade is one instance a trade up is justified , 2 2nd round draft picks dont hurt us . will still have 7 picks this year and 6 so far next year with at least 2 comp picks coming

so we can get out of our financial problem caused by a panic ASS trade

haskins reminds me of a young doug williams and i think DW may have had a big say in this draft so far

i think in round 3 we get a WR . godwin and the OSU wr (?) mclaughrin could be the pick followed by an OG connor mcgovern

you have no clue. as always comparing apples to oranges.

LMAO!! It is funny, I was watching a shot of those folks who go to the draft and thought of you. A nub in a jersey that thinks he knows it all and when a team doesn't draft a guy you like you get your ass all bent out of shape and declare that player a POS from there on. All good dean, I pay little attention to your opinions because I don't think you know your (_)_) from a hole in the ground.

Draft is going well so far, even you like it. :D Enjoy.

Yep. Not all of these needs need to be addressed this offseason. With the latest moves & a little luck they could be set for a long time on the defensive front 7 & at QB & a few other positions. This should allow them to focus on other areas like OL and WR during the next offseason. Ultimately big contracts for Smith & others will come off the books giving them more flexibility. They actually appear to be doing some smart things recently - for whatever reason.

IM going to call it now. Smith will be on IR this year from jump. They simply cant afford to release him even as a June 1st cut. He will be a june 1st cut in 2020 for cap reasons.
