Man, you are sensitive. It's hysterical from someone who thinks "mediocre" is middle of the pack that you get all upset over not being "very good".:noidea:

Probably about double the current odds I'd say. 1200 is crazy. I doubt you find many here saying the Browns deserve that. I'd say the group of teams at 2000 and 2500 are all a little better than Cle but I'd put them at 2500 anyway because after the Pats and Chiefs (I think they are both worse this year) there aren't any teams that I think are that good in the AFC (maybe Chargers) and their schedule is really easy. So that gives them a little easier of a path and the odds obviously reflect that.

He isn't. He played well and did some good things and has the potential, but time will tell. He's probably already top 20 which is good for a rookie and should put up big numbers with all the weapons he has, but any QB would put up numbers with those weapons. If he gets the ints down a little it should help.
I'm sensitive for laughing at you? Ok.

Honest question - other than just saying "they're the Browns", what makes teams like Minnesota, Philadelphia, Dallas, or LAC better than Cleveland?

He is. You rip me for thinking Dak is average, yet you think Baker isn't very good? He broke the rookie TD pass record in 13 starts. He had the 2nd best RZ passer rating in the league last year. Once they finally fired Hue Jackson, Baker had one of the highest passer ratings in the NFL. And he was doing this with Jarvis Landry and a bunch of relative nobodies. I'm not saying he's elite or even top 10 yet, but you've gotta be kidding me saying he's "not very good".

In the AFC I'd have like this for the SB

1a Patriots
1b Chiefs
3. Colts
4. Browns
5. Chargers
6. Texans
7. Steelers
8. Jaguars
9. You Don't Fucking Matter, Go Away

I would put the Browns 7th just bc we dont actually know yet. Could change very quick into the season. But on papee that list looks good

No, you are uber sensitive and get your boo boo feelings hurt and feel like you are being attacked for some bizarre reason. Grow a sack.

Mayfield is OK. Like I said, he is probably top 20. Let's see how he does going forward. He doesn't even have to be that good to put up good stats with all of those weapons. But stats are for people that can't judge talent with their eyes and read box scores. I like him better as a fantasy QB right now than I do a real QB. He probably needs to be able to get to at least 10 wins and win that division with that talent and easy schedule to prove he is better than average.

Yeah, 7th a lot more reasonable. Rome wasn't built in a day. They are certainly a team on the rise and look like an exciting fun team. The question is if they are there this year and IMO I don't think they are quite there yet. I'd say if you were looking at future years now (if they even have such a thing) they would be right near the top of the AFC. I think they are also a very likable team for most NFL fans of other teams. Hopefully OBJ and some of the others don't ruin that

Enjoy being the only man alive with that thought.

If you want to call me amusement at your ignorance and hypocrisy "uber sensitive", that's your opinion I guess.

This is easy.

While they are still the Eagles........they won a SB just a few seasons ago.

Sure they did. If they have a healthy Wentz for the whole season, that's the difference. Nicky Foles isn't there to save them anymore.

Oh for sure. I have them entering their bye at 3-3, but after the bye, I have them at 8-2.

In all honesty, that 3-3 mark is them losing vs. LAR and SEA and at Baltimore, and those are 3 games they could very possibly win. I think the Gurley issue in LA is big, and his best days could be behind him if he actually does already have arthritis. I think Seattle is good, but are they better than Cleveland in Cleveland? I'd say it's a toss-up most likely. Baltimore on the road is difficult, but I have no faith in Lamar Jackson. They almost beat them in Baltimore at the end of the season, and very well could have if the officials didn't screw them out of an obvious TD on that botched fumble call.

I think at New England is a loss, but it'll be a good game. If they go 11-5, that would put them probably in that 5-7 range in the league.
I try not to temper my enthusiasm, but not at all crazy to think they will be favored in 11 games minimum.

very likely - Bmore, Cinci X 2, Miami, Buffalo, @AZ and @SF, Tennessee, @Jets

very possible - Pittsburgh, @Denver

Rams not likely but certainly possible same with seattle.

@NE really only game they have no chance to be favored.

I was pleasantly surprised to get 12-1 odds for my Bears. Not that I think they are by any stretch a shoo-in for winning the SB, but we have a solid team with a decent shot at making it to the Promised Land, so I thought it was worth placing 50 LARGE on them to take it (with LARGE = $1 that is).

Sure he needs to do it again, but he set a rookie record for TDs on a team that was 0-16. Their #2 WR last year was a rookie who hadn't played in more than a year.

so you are thinking smart, extremely accurate with a strong arm are not traits that might make up a good QB?

We need to keep in mind these ranking are for betting purposes and not who Vegas thinks is best. Your last line probably goes into Vegas' thinking as lucky for them many people bet with their heart and not their heads.

When I joined SportsHoopla last summer, I made only two predictions. The first one was that my Bears would make the playoffs, despite the preseason prognostications to the contrary from just about every pundit & analyst out there. My prediction came thru with flying colors.

My other prediction is a bit more long term. I said by 2020 the Browns would be the dominant team in the AFC North, and one of the dominant teams in the entire conference. Of course this is still a TBD situation, but I think my initial prediction so far is spot on.
