Truth is.
There are only 3 blue chip prospects in this draft. Bosa, Allen and Williams. Pundits are all over the place on the all the prospects after that. Meaning that 4-20 are all as much of a crap shoot as the others.

Was reading the Colts GM Ballard thinks this class has 14 blue chips

Hockenson
Harry
Oliver

are the safest picks in this class imo talented with good technique

2019 NFL Draft Profile: N'Keal Harry | NFL Draft news and analysis | Pro Football Focus

One of the most elusive receivers in college football this season, N’Keal Harry finds himself at No. 61 on the latest PFF Big Board. He will look to continue his upward trend, as he improved his overall grade in each of three seasons at Arizona State, as he enters the NFL.

One of Harry’s biggest strengths is his 6’2” frame, which he uses to high-point the ball. He totaled 17 contested catches, which was T-2nd in the draft class. His ability to make the most of each catch stood out as well with 32 explosive plays (20+ yards) where he used his long arms to fend off defenders after the catch.

Another strength is his ability to use his hands to get away from coverage and find open space in the middle of the field. When targeted between 10-19 yards this season, Harry posted 5.68 yards per route run and a 112.3 passer rating which led to 17 receiving conversions (first downs plus touchdowns).

A potential weakness in Harry’s game is his focus at the catch point which led to an 87.9 percent catch rate this season, which was T-61st in the draft class. This weakness reared its head in the red zone specifically, where he was targeted 13 times and only brought in four catches for a 79.8 passer rating.

I would be shocked if he is there late in round 2. I am hoping he is still there in the middle for us.

9. Cody Barton
LB, Utah

Been on the Cody Barton train for a while now and I'm not hopping off now, team! Though, if you had asked me what Barton was going to test in Indy, even I wouldn't have predicted that.

Barton's athletic profile will get him drafted in the late Day 2/early Day 3 range, but his tape is nothing to sneeze at. Barton's got a great head for coverage and experience playing up on the line, though his upright and passive style of addressing contact limits his ability to make plays in the backfield. He's a fun upside guy, though.

Round Grade: Round 4

BB_72; @Mebert what is the story on Barton as you've watched so much more Utes than the rest of this board.

Route Running: Jace Sternberger, Texas A&M
Sternberger is a smooth criminal when it comes to route running. During his one year wonder at Texas A&M, he was a consistent target for quarterback Kellen Mond, and the reason for that is because how precise he was with his route running. Sternberger was always where he needed to be. Varying speeds in his routes or coverages he was up against did not dictate him getting to his spot at the correct time, and because of that he was able to garner pretty good chemistry with his quarterback -- that trend should continue at the next level.

I think he's the best of the bunch when it comes to both separation and smoothness in his routes.

BB_72; I agree with what I highlighted regarding separation and smoothness. Sternberger chews up yardage in huge chucks, out in space, with those long legs. He's not easy to bring down upon first contact either.

He is always one of the best athletes on the field, but he never really shows up in big plays either. If he ever learns to read the developing play better he could be a steal. If not he will always disappoint.

2019 NFL Draft: Ranking the 10 trade scenarios that make the most sense in Round 1

7. Lions move back, maybe even way back
The Lions did a good job addressing key needs in free agency, picking up Trey Flowers, Justin Coleman and Jesse James but also several solid players up and down the roster. But the positions that make the most sense addressing with their first pick would be reaches for any of the talent available. Do they grab secondary help? Well, many don't project any defensive backs to go in the top 20. Do they lock in another guard to boost the offensive line? That's a reach in the top 10 as well. Adding a defensive lineman like Montez Sweat or Rashan Gary seems like the most likely scenario if they stay put, but that also means a lesser role for Romeo Okwara after amassing 7.5 sacks and signing an extension this offseason.

So I would expect the Lions to be working the phones to engineer a move back. It could be with the Bengals (as covered above), or with the Falcons if they're in love with Ed Oliver. But I'd set my sights even further down in the first round. Getting No. 24 and 35 from the Raiders so Oakland can come up and get a second impact defender would be solid value. So would getting No. 26 and 34 from the Colts, who could also use a difference maker like Oliver or Sweat. And that's a much better range for the Lions to grab a corner like Byron Murphy plus add a top guard at the top of the second round. Add a safety with their original second-round pick (and there should be good value at the position at that point) and this will be an A-grade draft for Detroit.

BB_72; Oak to Det #8 for their #24 & #35 doesn't match up. It would take Oakland's #24 & #27 with a big maybe BQ gives back our #184 along with that #8. Indy doesn't match up either for our #8 as they'd have to give up their #26 & #34 & #145 with a possibility we throw in our #204 along with that #8.

2019 NFL Draft Trade Value Chart

I think it all comes down to how bad a team wants to trade back versus how bad the other team wants to trade up. I think this chart is a little over the top too. To move up 1 spot in the mid first round would cost a mid 4th round pick. No way would I ever do that. Maybe a 5th. I need to build my own chart at some point.

meh.
A lot of last years trades were within a few points of spot on outside of Buffalo moving up from 12 to 7 and giving up two 2nd round picks (Buf gave up too much and yes it was for a QB and GB got hosed dropping from #14 to #27 getting that additional 2019 1st rd pick became half it's value for being a next years pick).

2019 NFL Draft Prospect Visits Tracked by Team

Lexington Thomas, RB, UNLV (PRI)

John Ursua, WR, Hawaii (PRI)

Juwon Young, ILB, Marshall (PRI)

BB_72; The Lions hosted the above players for private visits. I'll assume these players are more inline as an UDFA. Tiny tikes in Thomas and Ursula but Young is a big LB @ 6'2 250 lb.

When the Old Lion trade value chart comes out then you will have a better idea of what trades were good and which ones were bad.

BQ was taken to the wood-shed thrice in that trade for Hand last year giving up this years 3rd to draft him in the 4th round last year. just so you're informed.

You should have Trump and the DOJ all over this injustice.

Get that trade chart together as you have about 10 days.

Lions have two trade value charts. One for most the league, and a second for the Patriots.

These dudes are Brian Burns lovers all the way.
This is the only site where I saw anyone saying he is a freak athlete but looking at this measurables. His measureables are every bit as good as Sweat and Khalil Mack. I think Mack had a 40" vertical vs Burns 36". But everything else is almost the same.

So are homer sites Detroit Lions.com, Freep, Detroit News, M-Live, Pride of Detroit all infatuated with Burns (stating he's better than all DE in this draft from an thletic pass rushing specialist) and even over Sweat's measurables.
