Kind of where I stand on the episode. I thought they were condensing into 6 episodes, but they were to be longer episodes... Seeing as they aren't, we really don't have time for the dragon field trip scene... I get they are trying to drive home the fact they're in love and all, but I think since John already "drove it home" at the end of last season that we get it...

A couple of the big questions in my mind...

1) Was Tyrion REALLY dumb enough to believe the Lannister army would come north to help? I mean, we never REALLY saw what was agreed to.

2) If I'm Yara, I'm going to remind Theon that while his desire for redemption is nice and all, he is by FAR the least welcome individual within the gates of Winterfell at this point...
They were doing more than cheap time stretching between Jon and Danny.

Jon is about to have to tell a driven and self absorbed women with dragons that he is the rightful heir to the throne. They need that dynamic of her falling for him to even suggest she wouldn't kill him right away.

I would expect Jon to test this for himself next episode by at least putting his hand in fire, if not something more.

We had to see him flying a dragon for many different arc possibilities. Danny is now expendable because Jon is that plan B Tyrion was on about late in season 7. Doesn't mean they will kill her off, but they want that in our minds.

They are likely both immune to the dead dragon. Sure, it's blue flame not red. But it melted the wall not froze it.

And this session is 7 hours long. No, it's not as much as some expected, but it's not 7.8 to 8 episodes worth as someone suggested. It is equal to 7 episodes.

Time is short, but none of this was wasted. It is all setting up the action to come.

Can Danny get pregnant from her nephew?

Jon is way more steady as a leader.

Arya is different now? Well no shit. She's been to hell and back, trained under a group that all look stoned, and returned to a home she no longer recognizes from a life she is so distant from. Of course she isn't the same

Cersei is currently pregnant with Jamie's last child.

She didn't say anything when Euron said that because she was secretly thinking, "too late."
I forgot about that...do we think that to be true?

it was back in the days of someone having 3 dragons and probably also people wanting to see an imp get on a dragon.
Her brother told her " The Dragon has 3 heads " in her vision of Rhaegar in the house of undying in the books.

Can't recall if that happened in the series.

But, that's why people are speculating on there being a 3rd Targaryen.

Maybe Danny is preggers?

The Mad King took ...uh..." Liberties "....with Tywin's wife back in the day.

So, it is possible that Tyrion is the 3rd.

It would also explain his obsession with them as a boy.

The Targs usually wed their Sisters and procreated.

So. Aunt and Nephew wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

She stated such last season and told Tyrion. Which he alluded to while speaking to Sansa at Winterfell during last night's episode.

As for the "bro you're a Targaryan" conversation...I was hoping it was a bit more dramatic. Can you imagine Dany's face had the fact been revealed in her presence? I was hoping Bran would blurt it out during his "we've no time for this" speech.

Okay, clearly this is "Book Lore" that only a Targaryen can ride a dragon, because that "rule" hasn't really been established anywhere in the show.... Also, you'd think Dany would know this little factoid and thus, NOT ask her boyfriend to get on the dragon?

I mean, if we're going to argue about this point, let's lay it all out there! ;)
True.

Technically, Thormound, the Hound rode the dragon back with Danny.

Regarding Theon. He’s definitely not winning any popularity contests but Jon would welcome his support.

If you remember s7 ended with Jon telling him he’s both a Stark and a Greyjoy and gave him permission to go save Yara.

Cersei is currently pregnant with Jaimie's child.....says Cersei.....who was facing even the allegience of Jaime to her being threatened. So is she pregnant? Maybe.

And I do not think "too late" is what she was thinking in that moment with Euron. I think she was thinking of all the wonderful strategic implications she can weave up with this "child in belly" thing. That's how Cersei acts and reacts.

At the big meeting last season, they explain that only dragonglass or Valyrian steel can kill a wight/WW.

What were Tormund/Jorah/Hound using to fend them off? Sure, the big hammer can break them apart, but Jorah was using two rather small stiletto daggers. Was he ‘killing’ wights or just slowing them down?

Will the Unsullied and Dothraki need dragon glass? Or make do with steel?

Gendry made one axe for The Hound. Do they plan on covering every spear tip and/or scimitar with it????

Agree.

But, I pray that whole reborn in salt and smoke was a red herring and that little twat isn't the Prince that was Promised.

When Euron made him tuck ass and jump overboard after kdnapping his sister and killing the sand snakes....

He emerged from the water in salt and smoke.

:sad2:

I'm not here for the Theon or Jorah redemption tour.

Now tht I think of it, could apply to Jaime too after Bronn tackled him into the water.

Lots of misdirection.

I don't think they are aware of what alcohol can do to a fetus yet.

She's a mass murderer and has a chronic case of the ince$t.

A little wine is small in the big scheme of thangs....lol

I don't know that I actually believe she's preggers.

But, that's what her mad scientist told her and that's what she told Jaime and Tyrion.

Could argue that Ser Davos is the one.
Born of the sea (salt).
Literally witnessed the birth of a smoke demon.

Time will tell.

According to the prophecy recounted by Melisandre, after a long summer, Azor Ahai will be reborn amidst smoke and salt
wielding the flaming sword Lightbringer to defend the world from R'hllor's nemesis, the Other. While Melisandre is certain Stannis Baratheon is Azor Ahai, others are not so sure.

What if bran is 'worging' into different people manipulating Everything...

I believe he and the former Three Eyed Raven are/were. The Mad King may have been driven crazy by their whispers, just as Hodor was mentally stunted.

I agree

superb is giving them waaaaaaaay too much credit. They are no where near superb.

I am not much of a fantasy or Sci-Fi fan but this one has me hooked. The last author that captivated me was Tom Clancy, which probably says more about me than the writers. Harry Potter was meh at best and I cannot think of another fantasy story that I really liked. My first GOT exposure was at the end of season six when I watched about ten minutes of an episode and knew I would love it. I started binge watching and each episode seems better than the last. So from my view, superb is the correct word to use. This is coming from a man that thinks Al Bundy is the greatest fictional character ever to grace a television screen, so there is that.
