If he makes it to round 2 I cant see how we could pass. We could trade up as well. There is also the possibilty we trade out of 8 and take him in the first a little later.

Got no interest whatsoever in trading up. That is a suckers game.

Yeah. I really don't understand why people have him rated over Jonah. I know you said you don't care for him too much but at least he has experience and was pretty productive there as well.
I would be able to forgive them for taking Jonah and putting him at RT. Cause at least if Decker got hurt again, he could be a backup insurance policy as well.
If they took Taylor, it would make zero sense based on the fact that if Decker got hurt. We would be absolutely fugged.

I would draft J. Taylor 256/256 draft slots over J. Williams. jmo though.

Taylor would be considered raw as an incoming LT with only two CFB starts at that exact position, however there is more upside as a LT for Taylor than there is for Williams. Furthermore, If Decker was injured I would feel more comfortable with Taylor at LT than I would J. Williams or even T. Crosby when thinking long-term. once again jmo.

I see you've been making numerous visits to those flowery shops again out in Vegas. Those products you've been trying must be the 22%-25% THC content.

Detroit Lions Breakdown Podcast – Hosted by Erik Schlitt (@erikschlitt) and Joe Kania (@JoeKania_DLB)

@Stomp you might be interested in this podcast. The tier 1 prospects they note start around the 20 minute mark. The comp pick they give to Ed Oliver is LaVon Kirkland (I think that's a great comp for Oliver when you consider all the positions that they state he could play).

Their top tier players are Q. Williams, J. Allen, N. Bosa and E. Oliver.

@Rollingthndr and @Old Lion. There are 3 minutes here that they discuss the Devin's. It starts at the 34 minute mark through 37th minute.

Interestingly in BQ's 1st round draft picks to date all were team captains. (Devin White was a team captain but Metcalf wasn't so you have that going for or against you thndr).

They list their top OG/C as G. Bradbury, C. Lidstrom, E. McCoy, E. Jenkins, C. McGovern and N. Davis (UNC-Charlotte).
They also discussed that if a trade down were to happen into late teens to the twenties that Cody Ford would be a good option (while also mentioning J. Taylor, J. Williams if either slipped).

Other possible Will LB that they mentioned were Cashman, M. Wilson. ( I would add in NC-St Germaine Pratt, Stanford B. Okereke and U-Dub B. Burr-Kirven as day 3 possibilities)

Possible 2nd round WR they mentioned that might fit Detroit were AJ Brown and Deebo Samuel (imo, I think the earliest Samuel gets drafted is mid 3rd round but it's a weak class for WR)

NFL Norte' division homer here…longtime lion admirer (see barry sanders, lem barney)

as an outsider looking in, your D needs the most pending help. The O can correct itself thru trades and lower round drafting, IMO.

good day sirs.

No. Just out here waiting for my new team to come to town. I have a snowballs chance in seeing my team win a super bowl if I have two teams instead of one, right?? :noidea:

Nice little soundbite. I know Devin White is rated way higher on most boards but I like Devin Bush a tiny bit more. Maybe cause I saw a few Michigan games last year and he was all over the field. I didn't watch much LSU football last year.

The more I delved into looking at the two comparatively, I'll agree with you on Bush over White.

I wouldn't draft either of them unless I got a trade down into early twenty something of 1st round.

Report: Lions plan to meet with Toledo CB Ka'Dar Hollman

With 35 starts at cornerback in 41 games, Hollman was a leader of the Rockets’ defense. In his college career, he racked up 113 tackles, 27 passes defended and two interceptions.

Hollman is a raw prospect with the physical tools to help him find his way onto an NFL roster. With a 4.38 second forty-yard dash, a 38.5-inch vertical jump, and a 6.81 second 3-cone, he showed that he has the speed, explosion, and agility to make it as a pro.

His athleticism, paired with his positional versatility and ability to play special teams, make him an attractive late-round draft choice for the Lions.

18 reps on the bench at that size is impressive as hell. Gotta be a gym rat to have that much strength.

5 Tight End Fits For The Seattle Seahawks | The Draft Network

Sternberger is pretty much an F-TE but he does have a good skillset as a blocking TE down field for RB/WR. He also has great body control out on the boundary to double toe-tap at the sideline. I've watched 4 or 5 games of his this past year.

Oliver is strikingly similar to Sternberger, imo, but from my eyes he does give a solid effort as a Y-TE. Oliver needs work on his technique for in-line blocking but he further ahead than Sternberger at this point. imo.

I wouldn't draft either of these two before our 3rd round pick.

Warring is raw as a route runner but he gives solid effort as an in-line blocker. He needs to bring his feet together with upper body/hands with his punch. he can absolutely rock-n-shock a DL/OLB with his punch. He dropped 9 of 49 catchable targets. ouch. He's being hyped as a 3rd/4th round pick but I'd lean more to latter 1/4 of 5th into 6th round.

Foster Moreau is my sneaky pick. He's 2nd best in-line blocker, imo. As stated by TDN he didn't get many opportunities to showcase his receiving talents. His combine numbers do not showcase on the field though when I've watched him.

He could very well end up being one of those 7th round picks rather than hoping you can get him as an UDFA.

I don't know anything about him so I'm going to go to you-tube and watch 2-3 full games of the 2017/2018 regular season against power 5 teams. I just saw the link today.

3 Best Denzel Ward Running Mates For Cleveland Browns | The Draft Network

Isaiah Johnson is the one CB from the above link that I'm interested in. I saw where he was better in press-man than in zone as he could re-route WR of the line and stay in mirror throughout. He's still raw but has much better footwork, mechanics and technique than MSU CB Justin Layne. Johnson has the athletic skillset to bail or play off and still have to extremely quick click-n-close (which might be why they view him as a zone CB).

I wouldn't begin to look at him until day 3. imo.

When looking at this years CB's I think it should be stated that the Lions played the highest % of snaps this past season at man coverage. It was 50% man. The next closest was 43% (+/- 2%. I'm going off memory and I believe it was hoodie's team that was 2nd). Somehow I've misplaced that link amongst the hundreds I've saved. It was on Pride of Detroit in a post season article.

So, my belief is that you might not want to solely focus on man coverage only or press-man coverage only CB.

Pittsburgh Steelers 7-Round Mock Draft | The Draft Network

Sheldrick Redwine is who I was mainly looking at but noticed they had Armon Watts who I also like as a late 6th to 7th round possibility. They're both developmental prospects but either should be able to provide some quality rotational reps in year 1. Watts didn't receive much play time while Bielema was H.C. but once he was fired and new H.C. Chad Morris came into the fold for 2018 Watts became a starter.

Round 5, Pick No. 141: Sheldrick Redwine, S, Miami
Sean Davis, Terrell Edmunds and Morgan Burnett man the safety rotation right now for the Steelers, and you can throw Marcus Allen in there, as well. But, as a safety who has a cornerback background, Redwine would be a good hybrid player to move around the back of the defensive back depth chart.

Round 6, Pick No. 192: Armon Watts, iDL, Arkansas
Watts isn’t the best athlete you’ll find in the defensive line ground this year, but his four years at Arkansas taught him how to win technically with good leverage, nice hand usage and a variety of pass rush moves from an interior spot.

3 Prospect Fits To Improve Ravens Wide Receivers | The Draft Network

I was looking at AJ Brown more so as I'm fairly confident that Hakeem Butler wouldn't be available in 2nd round for us. Brown is more of a 3rd round WR prospect in my eyes but it's a weak WR class so he might be drafted in the 2nd round. If Brown were to last until our 3rd round draft slot I would view him as a high value pick.

How Early For Hock? | Pretty Penny v. Bargain Buy | The Draft Network

I'm extremely high on Savage as a 3rd round choice, at the earliest, as much as I'm a believer in Chancey Gardner-Johnson is worthy of a last 1/4 of 1st round to very early 2nd round pick. I just don't think we have that much of a need at Safety for the first two days at this time.

The other player mentioned in that link was Okie OL Cody Ford. If somehow the Lions ended up trading down into the mid-twenties for whatever reason(s) then I'd realistically might have to pull the trigger. I think this kid has All-Pro/Pro-Bowl RG possibilities from what I've seen (even though he played at RT. If Wagner were to be injured I believe Ford could handle the duties at RT for a short term. Yes, I know we have Crosby as a wait in the wings for whatever position (presumably RT).
