The numbers he put up his senior season was flat out ridiculous.
Ty Jones, Spiker, Osbourne, and add Davis and Nacua to the roster now. Wide Out WR corps is loaded for years. Love it.

And we've landed the Offensive and Defensive MVPs of the poly bowl. There is no denying it. Huskies are flat out balling at recruiting right now.

That tweet was made before Nacua committed. The number for UW now is 43.

Just bolsters the notion that the passing game should make huge strides this year while the running game has to take at least a step back after Gaskin's departure. The improvement to the passing game will for sure help the running game anyway, and should drastically improve the red zone productivity.

The best way to cover for weak kicking is to stop going for FG's and make TD's ffs.

Huge commitment for the Dawgs. I went to bed uncharacteristically early last night so I wasn't up to see the commitment. Nice to wake up to some good news after being told it's going to keep fucking snowing.

Some of the Tweets AG posted pretty well encompass my thoughts. I heard a handful of guys say that despite his already high ranking, he could still be even better than that.

As a wide receiver he reminds me of a better version of Dante Pettis (not talking about KR/PR skills).

He had 6 catches for 93 yards and a touchdown in the Polynesian Bowl along with taking home offensive MVP honors. I can't seem to find his stats for the All American game, but I had it on briefly and I recall him making at least one big play.

Timothy Horn should he exactly what the doc ordered for the FG situation. One of the top 10 K in the nation. Exactly what we need.

Ahmed should be a great replacement for Gaskin as the #1 RB. But depth is a bit of a concern now there after him.

Word is Nacua bonded very well with our new WR coach and that's got to be music to our ears. That really helped seal the deal with his family and him. Great news on that front.
Beautiful how it all worked out after Ngata and Ford decided to go elsewhere with our class.
We pulled it off in the end with Davis and Nacua.

Nacua will be a beast at the Flanker. Great hands and he put up those ridiculous numbers, even with being extra targeted by defenses all season long.

I've always preferred average, but I do get the value in numbers.

I have to assume that some of the "blue blood" programs are able to send out a lot of offers and take in a lot of commits because a lot of those guys leave early for the NFL draft. Additionally (I don't know the numbers) but I'd have to assume programs like Alabama for example probably have a number of guys who were previously highly recruited guys who transfer out looking for playing time.

Your in that group when it comes to recruiting, your hitting it at an elite level. And look at total offers as well. The fact were landing classes like this, with some of the lowest total offer numbers, is incredible.

So happy with how this class all came together. Just sit back enjoy the ride. The next couple seasons is gonna be golden years for this program. Go Dawgs!!!!

Puka Nacua and the Winding Road of Receiver Recruiting

"247 compared him to a young Dante Pettis. It’s everything Husky fans could have wanted."

Promise I didn't know this before I drew the comparison lol. Very similar skill set based on Nacua's highlights.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that he led the nation in receiving yards. He had something like 100+ catches, 2000+ yards and 25+ TDs. Pretty incredible and the highlight reel speaks for itself.

You have to love the trajectory that we've taken when it comes into bringing in top tier talent.

Here are the average ratings of the guys we've brought in by year since Petersen joined the program:

2014: 0.843
2015: 0.857
2016: 0.874
2017: 0.884
2018: 0.902
2019: 0.901

Pretty great to see.

When I watched his film he looked physically similar to Dante and something like him when he came out of highschool, but Pettis turned into a very solid route runner and Puka isn't there yet. He's got fantastic instincts and I like his jumps/high points and sideline awareness. He made a few catches that were NFL quality on the sideline/endzone. He's got good hands too.

As for overall ranking and recruiting in general, it has been steadily improving, but if you want to make that next big leap you have to have a payoff somewhere on those big national stage types of games and so far those haven't been coming. Turn the corner, beat someone in a big time bowl, win a playoff game at least, and those 5*'s will come more into play.

Agreed.

The dearth of talent we've brought recently it indefinitely helps that possibility.
