A putt rolling into the hole is a much of part golf's DNA as any of the part of the game.

Say come Sunday at Augusta, the putt with the flag stick out misses but the one with the flag in wins it?
The optics on that will be so galactically bad.

And it's all for nothing. If you wanted to speed up play, why not just shorten the time before guys are put on the clock.

If they want to make the golfers choose among 4 golf balls that they have made in their own facility, they can do it.

Adam Scott has always been a pretty solid all around player. I don’t think you become #1 in the world not being good on the greens. In and out of the top 10 for years.

I think the lack of old long putter and anchoring was more of the issue vs the flagstick. Not to mention he just changed his grip in the middle of this tournament apparently.
