Lebron payed in all 82 games last season...

The lakers should have an easier time playing without lebron because they all played together prior to lebron. When lebron came to CLE and MIA there was a ton of new working parts and players, big difference

Thanks for the correction, I saw a stat that said teams were something like 4-20 without LeBron and I assumed it was from last season for some reason. That's a good point, they should be playing better but I think most of the focus is on the "young core's" offense and not on their defense, where they have been performing pretty admirably as of late.

Lebron did play all 82 games last year. But the Cavs record in the first 3 years was something like 4-20 when Lebron didn't play (so the Lakers have already beat that in his first season with them).

The Lakers also had a lot of turnover when Lebron came to LA. Rondo, McGee, Stephenson and now Chandler are all new.

Additionally when Lebron joined both the Heat and Cavs, he joined teams with 2 other all star caliber players, including at least 1 who is a future Hall of Famer. He didn't have that with the Lakers.

A lot of those games we were resting a combination of Irving and love with lebron. I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from that statistic.

Role players are easier to incorporate than 2nd and 3rd options

Maybe some of it. But can't all be explained by that.

Just stop. He went to teams with 2 other all stars, at least one of whom is a first ballot hall of famer. Sure there's going to be an adjustment. But to suggest that joining a bunch of 2nd and 3rd year players is somehow going to be easier is crazy.

The excuses are getting pretty entertaining. When the season started, all the Cavs fans insisted that even the current Cavs roster is better than the roster that Lebron was joining in LA. That roster is 5-8 without Lebron (and Rondo) to date, roughly double the Cavs winning % this year.

Well the cavs went to 4 finals, and won a championship. Lets see what the lakers do...

Also Love is out

Well unless you think these lakers players are better than wade/bosh Irving/Love how else do you explain it?

These teams had to learn how to play with lebron and each other, well the lakers most of the players had played together for a few years. I am not saying they are better, just that they are use to playing without lebron.

The discussion was the Cavs, not the Heat. The Cavs were 4-20 without Lebron over the first 3 years of his return and Kyrie and Love didn't also sit out all of those games.

The Lakers players hadn't "played together for a few years". They are 2nd and 3rd year players and the Lakers brought in Rondo, McGee, Stephenson and Chandler. Yet, they still have managed to win more games without Lebron (and Rondo) than the Cavs did in 3 years.

Like @shopson67 said...your excuses are getting to be pretty entertaining.

So were they really 4-20 without lebron? The answer in an obvious no...

Just looking through 1 year of stats in 2016-17, Lebron didn't miss any games in 2018

Lebron+Irving in 2016-17

Sat 6 games together

Lebron+Love

Sat 5 games together

The core lakers players are still there...those players they brought in were role players

Also i am not sure what you are trying to imply...Are you implying that this lakers team is better than the Cavs team that had Irving and Love? I would love to hear...Thanks

So lakers fans thanks for the LOL in my thread

I learned today that the lakers core outside lebron is better than the Cavs core was with Kyrie and Love, but there expectations are a first or second round loss in the playoffs...

Interesting!

Kind of a moot point now that Lonzo is injured. Take the 3 best facilitators off of any team and that team will naturally struggle. I don't think it was any coincidence that the Rockets got back into the game after Lonzo went down, his defense was missed on the other side of the ball too. Now the pressure falls on BI, we'll see how this goes.

You guys are reading too much into this regular season stuff

Let me break down how it works. The cavs never cared about the regular season that much, the lakers are trying their hardest to save face and not get bounced before the playoffs even begin. They aren't any better talent wise, in fact they aren't even close compared to Irving and Love, regardless of that record you quoted, but that will show in the postseason. They flipped the switch once the playoffs came...The lakers don't have any talent to do this...

from 8 straight Finals to having to claw for a playoff spot..lol

3 games above .500

icant imagine the shit Cavs fans would be getting if they were 3 games above .500 and in the 9th slot with LeBron.

Yea, it was championship or bust every year...Now suddenly lakers fans are telling us they have a core that is better than Irving and Love, but may not even make the playoffs lol

Cavs were just coasting in the regular season, not fighting tooth and nail to make an 8th seed with a broken down lebron lol

Those Cavs teams didn't have to go through the Warriors to make the Finals.

You're just embarrassing yourself now.

If Lebron didn't play in 24 games and they went 4-20 in those games, that was their record when Lebron didn't play.

And yeah, the Lakers brought in role players...the Cavs brought in another all star in addition to the one that was already there and went 4 and fucking 20 when Lebron didn't play.

The only thing I'm implying is that the Lakers have already won more games without Lebron in 1 season than the Cavs did in 3.
