Curry is a mediocre defender at best.

He is a good passer- but I dont know anyone that would put him in the top 10 passers in the NBA right now or at any point in his career.

He is slick around the basket but hes not Kyrie or Harden etc. at getting to the rim.

His rebounding is what you would expect out of a less-than-physical point guard.

Steph Curry is a LOT closer to Steve Nash than he is to LeBron James or Magic Johnson or Michael Jordan.

shooting is the only thing that he is truly great at.
Do I think he can get to that level?

No.

But, there's no shame in not being on Mt. Rushmore.

Right now, he's below Larry Bird's level, above Reggie Miller's tier.

But, he has time to earn his way into the Bird, Barkley, Ewing level.

Yeah... guys like Skip Bayless are sh!t stirrers. And media often creates a story.

Kyrie's words last night struck me as genuine and from the heart... even if he wasn't 100% perfect in what he said.

Yeah, I'd love to be able to criticize him for this, especially with him being a Celtic...but if there's a message to his teammates, it seems more like a "don't make the same mistakes I did" message.

thats exactly what i said--- there is no shame in Curry not getting on mount rushmore

it was my exact point

he will NEVER EVER be a 1-A guy- not even close. he simply does not have the talent to be anywhere near the top of the mountain.

I think he should be very very happy if he is ever considered a 2-B guy like a Kobe, Duncan, etc. he can make base camp on Everest - but he is turning around before he ever comes close to the summit.

I think there was genuinely humility there, too... Kyrie acknowledging that he was wrong for calling out his young teammates publically.

I think he had to do this apology publically because he publically threw them under the bus.

a lot of the reporters that have been around Kyrie- seem to think its more of Kyrie asking the young celtics to kiss his ring rather than its Kyrie admitting error.

My Man,

Nobody is disputing that he's not currently on that level.

But, his book is not finished yet.

I will say, I agree he's more Nash.

But, a supercharged version of Steve.

Steve wasn't a willing scorer.

With that being said, he's only a shooter?

Well, that was good enough to get Miller in the HOF.

So, I say Curry s doing just fine, mediocre defense and all...lol

I agree----

as i said

he has had what? arguably between 4 and 6 truly great seasons--- closer to 4 if you ask me.

he has a long way to be in the same tier as kobe and duncan and bird

and magic, lebron, michael is out of his reach. He just wasnt born with that type of upside. He just does not have the physical gifts to ever get there.

Which I find interesting because I was reading a article the other day that suggested Kyrie's Father's relationship with Kawhi's uncle could be the reason Leonad's camp is not interested in him joining LeBron and the Lakers.

Bird could do so much more than Curry its ridiculous.

but- at the same time- i dont put Bird on the same level as Magic, LeBron, Michael either.
Still missing the point
This isn't about best players ever. This is about players who changed the game, who you couldn't take your eyes off of. Shaq isn't on their level either but he changed the game, bent it around him. He was uniquely spectacular. So is Curry, and so were those other 3.

Kareem is higher on the "all time great" list than Curry and Shaq. But he doesn't have that thing I'm talking about.

Never meant it as a Mt Rushmore discussion. Curry is not a top 4 all time guy. But he's more unique and game changing than Kareem, Duncan, Kobe, and many others. The game is played how it is because of him. Harden should give him a check.

Now, this was reported months ago, by Broussard.

So, take it with a grain of salt....lol

“I get wanting to be in LA, wanting to be at home, you’re from here. But man, I think Boston and Philly are both better options,” Broussard said, as quoted by the Express. “I know his uncle who is advising him, Dennis Robertson, is close with Kyrie’s dad.”

“I have no idea how Kawhi feels about playing with LeBron but I know that his uncle has heard whatever horror stories Kyrie had that led him to want out of Cleveland, Denis Robertson has heard. … I don’t know how that affects Kawhi or even Dennis, whether he would want him to play with LeBron, but I know he has heard those stories,” he added.

I think when it's all said and done he'll be somewhere in the 15-25 range all-time. There are a firm 10 players in the NBA that I don't think I could ever rank Curry ahead of. 10-15 get's into an interesting debate, and 15-25 is probably where you'll end up seeing him.

The more interesting argument will be who ends up being ranked higher on all-time rankings, Curry or Durant.

Curry is a transcendent talent, not just a generational one. He's quite literally changed the game and the influx of shooters you're seeing in the NBA is a direct result of him. The NBA plays the way it does because of Curry.

Like I have said for some time. Hakeem and Kareem are 1a and 1b for best centers of all-time but I wouldn't have any problem taking Hakeem. He was the definition of unstoppable but he was so smooth, his game looked easy he was that great
He is most definitely in my top 5 most favorite players to watch.

I think Curry's top tier value, unless he does something ridiculous like win a couple more MVP's or something, will likely end up in the conversation of guys like Moses, Barkley, Malone, Garnette, Dirk, Dr. J, Durant, etc. Hate Kobe, but he's gotta be ranked higher than Steph.

I have about 13 guys that are firmly ahead of Steph after I looked at it again.

Jordan
Kareem
Lebron
Magic
Wilt
Shaq
Bird
Hakeem
Duncan
Russell
Oscar
West
Kobe
