Ask the mod to put a Caps thread, Nats thread, a boxing thread, DC United thread even if Rooney got a little drunk, a motorcycle thread, fishing thread and a rock and roll trivia thread it to a vote just as he did with the politics thread. I personally would favor a fishing thread, because I'm not aware of one in existence.

It was all sarcasm Sty. I don't mean for dad to do that. The key phrase in my last post was I don't have to go to the Political thread if I don't want to. I gave my two cents and it is getting a lot of play …. You know me Sty, most (not all) I believe in letting people be wrong.

Sty the things I said were in generalities. I gave you my best Arlo Guthrie/John Lennon speech. In the end much like the Smack Talk thread I can choose not to participate. The political thread would be no different.

My only suggestion would be that we add a Caps thread, Nats thread, a boxing thread, DC United thread even if Rooney got a little drunk, a motorcycle thread, fishing thread and a rock and roll trivia thread since all those things interest me. If we are going to create threads outside of the Redskins I would like all my interests added also. Just saying, if we are going to have government for some of the people we should have it for all.

Isn’t there already an off topic thread for that?

If you are going to do this, start it as a clean thread. ONly because I really dont think you should go through 900 pages to bring over what was said, and Im sure it will all come up again.

Plus we got lots of new fun stuff to "debate" out of the last month or so.

Politics don't belong on a sports forum…and, I totally agree per the original guidelines of this forum set back 2013.

In all honestly, I would check it out from time to time to see what was going on, but never would engage. Seems to me it rubbed some old Redskins SportsHoopla posters the wrong way and because of that, they don’t post that much here anymore.

If having a politics thread on a sports forum compels only one Redskins SportsHoopla fan to not post here anymore, that is one to many IMO.

I think it was on purpose. Everyone outside of the Redskins board is puzzled as to why this one is ruled with an iron fist.

Right now the Nats are probably inside favorites to re-sign him. If he's still seeking 400 million I think that Philly passes and the Nats sign him for an amount over that original 300 million mark but well short of his asking price of 400M.

Disagree and here's why, If there were posters who are no longer engaging because there is a "Politics Thread" then their issues are with the words Politics and/or Thread. There's nothing that compels anyone to click on that particular thread and either read or respond to what's in it. If the claim is that, then perhaps they left because the greater SportsHoopla has...wait for it...a "Politics Thread." If they CHOSE to open that thread and read something that gave them reason to disengage, it was self inflicted and a bit of hypocrisy considering the numerous exchanges of a political nature on many other non political threads. (Name change, New stadium, and the flag/kneeling issue to name a few)

I don't believe that I'm wrong as I recall the reason for the "Politics Thread" originally was to have a completely separate place to opine about such issues, for those who ELECTED to do so
