DJ LeMathieu. Damn, that's a solid addition.

I don't know what this means for Gleyber Torres. Kid is only 22 years old and probably would have had a 30 homer/100 RBI year if he hadn't missed 39 games.

But these NY teams do weird shit. I don't know what the Mets are doing with Jed Lowery either. I guess it means that Jeff McNeil, already 27 years old when next season starts, and clearly ready to start in the majors, is going to spend another year in AAA.

He's apparently going to be the super sub-all around the infield, per Jack Curry.

My guess is he's gonna see a lot of time at 3B.

And, unless they deal Andujar, I think this means it's all over but the shouting for Machado in the Bronx.

It should have no bearing on Torres. DJ is a .264/.311/.362 hitter away from Coors, which is hot garbage. Signing Machado was about as a no brainer of a move as you could get and somehow the Yankees are going to fuck it up.

not paying someone 300 million over 10 years is not fucking up. They already have Staton in the books and they will soon have Judge when the time comes that way to much money to be spending but then again the Yankees have infinite pockets.

Good thing Yankee Stadium is the Coors Field of the AL.

The Mets have serious concerns about McNeil's defense and they aren't sure who will play first. They might use Frazier there or even sit Frazier is he can't hit again. They're giving themselves options.

Camden is the Coors Field of the AL. Yankee stadium is a left handed hitters park but the left field gets deep quick.

This one kinda shocked me. I was really expecting the Giants to get him and deal Panik somewhere. The rumors were getting strong in the Giants blogosphere about that...

Oh well...

Which is a drop in the bucket compared to what the Yankees bring in. 26 year olds with Machado’s talent hit the FA market once in a blue moon and the richest team in the game is going to pinch pennies. It’s pathetic.

Gleyber is injury pone and they have Tulo who gets hurt listening to the national anthem. This is a depth move in case they have to shift Gleyber to short until Didi is back

Take a look at Machado's numbers away from Camden, they're nothing to write home about. They already have tons of right hand power with Stanton and Judge.

Never really understood why some of you guys wanted Machado, and had no interest in Harper... I would much rather get harper than machado... Not even close... Harper is a Lefty, we have no lefty power... Machado is a righty, we have so much Righty power... and the Yankees play in a lefty hitter park...

So what if he plays Corner OF... you can figure something out AFTER signing him...

Sure, Machado plays SS,3B... and it would be nice to get someone good to fill in for Didi until he gets healthy... but I don't think that is a major concern... infield defense is not the Yankees problem...

I disagree. Yankees infield defense outside of Didi in 2018 was horrible, and as we know, Didi's missing at least 3 months.

I see LeMahieu as a net positive for that very reason-even if he posts offensive #s similar to his career road #s

Torres is only 22. Kinda young to be branding him injury prone.

I fucking wanted both of them. Yankees should never worry about salary...they’re the fucking Yankees, and now they’re going to be cheap when 2 generational talents hit the market in the mid 20s??? They did the same thing when Moncada hit the market. Young talent is hard to acquire, and if all it costs you is the thing you have more than any other team you should jump at the chance.

that was my point too... BUT if they want to beat the red sox, they need all the right handed power bats as possible... But that is just one team... and I don't like strategizing vs only one team...
