New record for a 4 year player. Got a feeling he'll be setting the 5 year player record next year as well, unless the Sox sign him long term.

Which obviously, I would not like to see. :)

@nynasty Thoughts on this move? This kinda ends any chance of Machado IMO unless hthey plan on using Dj primarily at 1B

Sources: Yanks, LeMahieu agree to 2-year deal

Hard not to like it. Good little player-really good defender, which lord knows they need. I think he plays more 3B than anywhere else.

Like I said on the other thread, unless they're planning on dealing Miggy, this just about closes the door on Machado.

Yankees and RHP Sonny Gray avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $7.5 million contract.

This was his last year of arbitration eligibility. He will be a free agent next offseason. Gray is being actively shopped on the trade market right now with the Reds among the interested suitors.

wow talk about a nasty pen:suds:

ESPN's Jeff Passan reports that the Yankees have a three-year, $25 million agreement in place with free agent reliever Adam Ottavino.

It's only pending a physical exam. Ottavino adds another lethal arm to the Yankees' bullpen, joining Aroldis Chapman, Dellin Betances, Adam Ottavino, Zach Britton, and Chad Green in what should be the most dominant relief corps in baseball. Ottavino, 33, registered a spectacular 2.43 ERA (193 ERA+) with 112 strikeouts over 77 2/3 innings with the Rockies last season. He'll work in a setup or mid-inning role.
