I would take nothing less than a late 1st/low 2nd for RK. He is still playing at a high level and has never missed a game. There is every reason to believe he still has a couple of productive years ahead of him. TW I wouldn’t take less than a low 3rd. Only because of his injury history and his play droppped off a bit this year.

Trent can still play and Kerrigan has 37 sacks the last three years or 3 more sacks than some folks game changers. If he regressed to 10 per year for two years who else other than Orakpo has given the Redskins 10 sacks per year? :noidea: I know, there is the trade him while there is still some value thought. Maybe I am dead wrong and he falls off the table but I think he has at least two more good years in him.

That is the point. Let’s say he has two more good seasons while we are not in a position to compete. Come 2021, he will be 33...just in time to decline causing the future of the team harm.

Present value...
Future value...

Law of diminishing returns.

I don't disagree. That is why there is value in both them. IF someone offered us a 1st Kerrigan, you wouldn't take it?

Do you expect more of the same from him in 2021? Either of them at the age of 33?

Would this help our future cap to get stud players in FA come 2021?

Trent and Kerrigan are signed through 2020. There is no 2021 without a new contract. So the 2021 comment holds no water. Kerrigan's contract goes up $1.5 million this year and down $2+ million in his last year. There is no dead cap money after 2019. Trent's contract stays about the same the last two years. Seems to me they will be pretty productive through the next two years. I can see it for a #1 or #2 maybe but no way for a #4 or #5.

What stud FAs - Fat Albert, Archuleta, Pryor, Paul Richardson, Lavauo, McGee ….. who is going to acquire stud players. We already let good players walk or make bad trades.

Once again, comments are made like we have a competent FO. The last guy who was competent with personnel for the Redskins just went into the HOF this past year. :noidea:

I just made my 2nd post that I can maybe see it for a #1, even a #2 … not a #4 or #5 as gk mentioned.

That would also be a low as I would go for RK. Anything less isn't worth it to the team, IMO.

Any SB talk while Dan owns the team is nothing but hilarious. I would like to see the team build the D and get a young complimentary player on the other side of Kerrigan. Not Smith or Anderson. Someone that can actually get home. I have said this a couple of times and will say it again. Do that, replace Brown and Foster with SDH and Foster and that is a pretty good D if you can shore up the defensive backfield.

Can you sell your coaches and players on this ? What about the fans ?

Because geron Christian is your LT. and we gave Ryan Anderson and cassonova as your olbs . Everette as your safety with apke. Stroman At CB with smith and Adonis

Colt as your qb with young flanigan and holtz at TE , then we trot out Davis and Quinn at wr

That looks like a tank job to me

I had not watched that kid all year but he was impressive in the NC. Great touch on the deep ball.

Oh, we could still be a bottom feeder in 2021.

Probably. However between now & then they might make some other stupid move that commits them long term to some other questionable vet QB.

It holds a ton of water. With rollover cap space, every penny saved can roll over.

As for who will be available, who knows? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to afford the Khalil Macks of the world? Maybe the next Randy Moss?

Here we go again with Mack. First let me say Mack is a very good football player. Let me also say over the last three years Kerrigan has three more sacks, over four years give Mack a slight edge and over 5 years it is 60-53 for Kerrigan. You are going to have to join Sty's ARK club. :noidea::D

The severity of that injury and given his age Smith is not coming back.

Most likely right. He may try it but I can remember many that have had that injury and played worth a damn if at all. My nephew had it to just one bone in his lower leg and that was the end of his college football career.
