OU scored 34. They needed Alabama going conservative for about a quarter and a half to get back in the game. That isn't to take away from the fight OU showed in the game. They never gave up. But if Alabama keeps throwing the ball they score 60 pretty easy. They only had 3 incomplete passes all game.

OU could and should have atleast an average defense. Unfortunately, they have one of the worst defenses in the FBS.

Here's an if analogy for you. If Bama doesnt go conservative for better than a Quarter of football and plays all 4 like they did in the first quarter, Bama scores 60 plus and blows OU out in epic fashion.
OU played great, Bama was just better.

Blame the defense when the offense was equally responsible for Bama jumping out to a 28-0 lead. Chokelahoma doesn't hold a candle to this Bama team. Not sure why some 2014 Sugar Bowl win convinced Sooner fans otherwise.

OU got beat by a better team. Plain and simple. The offense finally started to get going, but it was too little too late. Hopefully, they can get some players and coaches who can improve the defense. As terrible as that D was they still went 12-2. Not good enough, but it leaves the door open for optimism. 46-8 the last four years ain't bad.

Too many OU drives were kept alive by uncharacteristic Bama penalties. At the same time, CeeDee Lamb got away with some really physical play. Sooner fans will play "what if" for an entire offseason but they were really never in a position to challenge Saban.
