I din't think do. Rivera didn't fumble the ball at the Saints 15 yard line. It wasn't Rivera's fault that Newton missed a ton of throws to wide open receivers. The Panthers had their chances tonight.

It ended up not mattering because once again Cam sucked but the worst rule in the NFL was on display again last night. That rule where a fumble out of the end zone is a touch back is a terrible rule. It's much too much of a penalty for a simple fumble out of bounds and it could have been the difference last night.

Cam is injured and the Panthers organization knew this. After a 5 game losing streak, there's no reason to keep him on the field. They should be sitting him right now. If Ron Rivera starts Cam Newton the rest of the season, he deserves to be fired. The new owner isn't gonna take a 6 game losing streak lightly.

Well he has shoulder surgery during the offseason last year and he was on the injury report during Week 8 for the same shoulder. 2 weeks later starts the 6 game losing streak. Lots of talk here in Charlotte about him sitting the rest of the year as the Panthers have a .7% shot at the playoffs and, if they lose out, they can have anywhere between the 5th to the 8th pick in the draft.
