I gotta be honest. I've watched them like 6 times this year and I'm not sure they're FF or even E8 good . They find ways to win which is great but man they've looked pretty average the majority of the year

But they got the pieces.

Very maddening to watch tho.

I mean, they did beat MSU and Tennessee, that's kind of hard to explain away. This is a very early thread considering it's still December.

If we're still having this conversation in April, yeah, I'll be more concerned.

I think they are extremely talented but they remind me of too many other Kansas teams that have no killer instinct. they don't stomp on opponents throats. they let teams hang around that have no business hanging around

They just always seem really unfocused they'll play great in short spurts but they miss a ton of layups , sloppy turnovers and are hit or miss on defense . So much talent it's tough to see how they've had so many close games

They look like complete crap, relative to a #1 ranked team. Lot of new faces in the rotation, so I am not giving up on them by any mean in Mid-December, but they clearly need to be more consistent. Losing Bookie certainly hurts, to be fair. This is not acceptable for a team this talented; just hoping it gels some by March.

Kansas is a weird team given all the experience they have. I thought they'd be better earlier in the year than later in the year because of that. They have a ton of a new guys trying to mold together, but they had that against MSU and Tennessee and still found ways to beat them. They are sound both offensively and defensively, but they aren't Duke/Gonzaga offensively or Michigan/UVA defensively. They are a top 5 team for sure, and you have to keep them #1 because they have the resume to back it up.

This nails it, imo.

I would say they need work.

Offense is resorting to hero ball against a Villanova defense that made University of Pennsylvania look like the Golden state Warriors.

Just my take they do not seem like a number one type team. No discredit to my Sun Devils taking them at the Bank last night either. ASU's worst performance from the charity stripe and missed layups and second shots makes me wonder how in the world we stayed in the game.

The loss of Azibuke shouldn't be marginalized. He's an important piece for them. Also they need Grimes to be better. I don't think it's a coincidence the best game they probably played this year, was KU's most impressive as a team.

Iowa State spanked them today without Azibuke. I'm sure they will be much tougher in PAFH. The Big Xi Championship will run through Lawrence, KS until it doesn't.

Honestly, I think KU might be better off without Azibuke.

He's a defensive liability against a small lineup.
