This is exactly right. Par of what Magic and Lebron discussed before he signed was lessening some of the burden that Lebron has to carry.

When Magic said..."We don't want to turn into Cleveland", this is exactly what he's talking about. The Lakers want Lebron to be the best he can possibly be for the time that they have him. One way to do that is to let someone else un the offense at times.

Something I've seen that I like is Lebron starting the game running things to get them off to a good start, then others, usually Lonzo, will run the offense, then Lebron takes over later in the 4th quarter to close out the game.
You probably watch more complete Lakers games than me.

But, I don't see Lonzo running the offense but for a fraction of the game.

He's reduced to a spectator because of his lack of aggression.

Magic said he didn't want this to turn into Cleveland West Coast addition.

Did you see Lebron's response?

This is the nicest way possible to say "I hear you Magic. But, I'm going to do me ".

"I don’t know what asking me to do too much is, to be honest," James said. "I understand the logic behind what Magic and Kobe are saying because we want to grow the young guys… But, I mean, Magic and Kobe know who I am. I know who I am. They know what they’re going to get out of me. That is, you know what you’re going to get out of me every game… When it’s really, really, really money time, you know who is going to be there."

Except for that fact that it's what's happening and the Lakers are 17-10 and Lebron is playing a career low in minutes. I'd expect his usage rate is down too.

In short, he's having virtually the same impact he always has, but without having to carry quite as much of the burden.
Last year he averaged 36.9 minutes and this year is averaging 34.9 - two minutes less and his ppg is higher, rebounds and assists are down - I would think that will be considered a good thing for now by Magic Johnson, but most likely will want to see LeBron's minutes come down some more over the year - Some players, however don't function as good unless they play heavy minutes and shoot a lot. Kobe was like that

I know right?

AD and James plus Kuzma and some midgets and that's a formidable team.
Dude...be realistic.

You'd have to give up every single young guy, including Kuz.

You guys have your pick, right?

Which package is more appealing...

Lonzo, Ingram and your first rounder..

Or

Rozier, Brown, Clippers Pick, Celtics Pick, Kings pick...

All this year?

They are going to want to empty your cupboard.

....and the Lakers should do it.

2 generational talents in LeBron and Brow would be ridiculous.

Realistically the Lakers don't have to do anything.

Like you mentioned earlier, ADs agent is Rich Paul. If AD is determined to go to LA, the Celtics aren't going to offer that package for a possible rental.

But then again, this is all subjective of course. Nothing has been said, and nothing has been done. My homerism comes in to play when I say this but LA is probably a better market for AD than Boston is.

Realistically, yes they do.

Davis is not a free agent.

He can have a preference all he wants.

But, just like George...

Just like Kawhi....

Just like Butler....

Just like Kyrie, the Pelicans can hold out for the best package available.

George made it clear he was signing with the Lakers.

He liked OKC and Russ so much he didn't even give Magic a meeting.

Let him go to a young Celtics team and win.

You think he's going to turn down that 5th year?

Holy Shit...

Davis still has 2 years AFTER this one left on his deal.

I would not risk letting another team grab him and have 2 years to change his mind.

Not for Kuz, Ingram, Ball.

I'd give them all up.

I don't care what he says about making it work in NOLA.

HE wouldn't have hired Rich if that's the case.

Shit, I could negotiate that max deal and I know Jack Shit about any of that stuff.

He didn't need Paul.

the Cavs scoring is so bad.

They basically have 3 guys that can score the ball- Sexton, Clarkson and Hood- and its not like Clarkson and Hood are exactly fucking world beaters and Sexton is 19 and was playing high school ball 20 months ago.

Delly has double digits scoring in the last 2 games- the only 2 games all year he has had double digits scoring. lol. Just needed to come back to The Land.

ill tel lya though

Frank Ntilikina was a BAD pick...to pick him over DSJ was atrocious.

The Knicks are fucking bad. Hardaway Jr. makes a shit ton of money for a LONG time and id rather have Clarkson- regardless of the money.

That is a bad bad contract.

Jeremy Lamb with a game winner. Detroit forced the ball out of Kemba's hand and Lamb nailed it

Kyrie is putting on a show right now.....Beal takes a ridiculous 3 to end the game.

Kyrie made 2 great shots in the final minute of OT to win
