"His biggest thing, he's been coddled for so long,"..............Jay Gruden with this statement has drawn a line in the cesspool that is Washington's front offices and lit the fuse that either ends his tenure here or that of GM Bruce Allen. Both will not survive the aftermath of this coaching hire. Gruden seem to be focused on winning games and that means upgrading a roster that is dire need of a GM who devotes more time in doing that than his current role as ring-master of this ongoing sad saga. Allen's five year history as GM does not bode well for the future of Jay Gruden, but neither does his penchant to go it on the cheap with respects to hiring a dedicated GM and upgrade the scouting department speak well of his own future here.. At some point I expect that Gruden will become frustrated enough with Allen's dual roles and resultant weakness that the owner will be forced to decide between them.
.................And that is what puts the clock on Snyder.
Yep, he's the owner, and he is definitely not going anywhere, but make no mistake, the onus is finally coming his way. That choice between his friend, the status quo- Allen, and this HC Gruden will prove crucial to how his bottom line is affected going forward. People often say that winning cures everything, nowhere is that more true than in the NFL, but, what if, you are an owner who does not know how to do that as Snyder has proven in the 15 years that he's owned the team? I believe that this is his last chance to get it right before there is a backlash from fans supporting this team. He MUST get it right this time........or face the inevitable fact that many many more, like some here, who have already stated, will decide that they have better things to do than watching, supporting or following Washington Football.
