It really doesn't need expanding to 8 teams, and definitely not to 16. I could see the possibility of 6 teams, but no more.

bowl season is 4 weeks long. you could easily do 16 teams. we don't need all these shit bowls.

and no one should get a bye, via opinion polls. the conferences don't play each other that often. you don't really get a sense on who the strongest conference is until after bowl season when teams from different conference get to play each other.

Ohio State was clearly better than Purdue at that time too. What's your point? Everybody agrees Purdue isn't any good. Not then or now. And it wasn't an "early season loss" anyway.

No I disagree with this, put Purdue in any conf other than the SEC or B1G and they'd be. 8/9 win team
