Yeah but why should a lower ranked team drop when playing and barely losing to a superior team? I could see if it were a massive blowout but to lose by 7 to the best team in the country?

Look at Duke, the lost to the Zags by 2, Duke was #1 and fell to #3. Just my opinion though

Duke fell 2 spots. They also won other games that week. Georgia lost their only game of the week and fell 1 spot. Seems legit.
The best thing about the playoff (it would be better with 8) is that the teams actually have to play each other to prove themselves. It's no longer just a champion based off of opinions.

So, Texas is a top 10 team because they were only a couple of plays away from beating Oklahoma again.

Sounds legit.

My issue with that is with 4 teams it's still opinion based! It actually made it more about opinions because they took away the computer rankings in the BCS

Not really, Texas didn't really have many or NY metrics to justify, they didn't have the eye test, or have the quality wins!

Cowturd like to make some.outlandish comments and some are correct and other are way too overboard. But there are metrics and stats that say UGA is one of the top2 or 3 teams in the country!

Ya but metric and stats don’t hold that much weight when teams are playing completely different schedules. Did Georgia look like a top team? Yes but it’s impossible to know. Look at the 4 teams in the playoff? Oklahoma played zero common opponents to anybody else in the playoff

How? They can't beat a team with a back up quarterback that hasn't played all year.
You can say they're not the 2nd or 3rd best team if you want. But that logic for saying so isn't very good. First of all they played the overwhelming Heisman favorite for 3 quarters and beat him up. And seconly this "backup QB who hasn't played all year" would be a starter and most places, HAS played a lot this year and has a 26-2 record and taken his team to 2 National Championships in 2 years as a starter.

Well yeah if most of the top 10 teams played OU schedule, they'd probably have the same or better record! I mean B12 isn't exactly murders row anymore!

unfortunately, the world will never know.

ohio state is team that should be crying, left out 2 years in a row now.
Maybe they shouldn't lose by 30-points to bad teams if they want to make the playoffs.

so then maybe ucf should be in.

georgia lost twice whats your point. teams have bad days for a variety of reasons. a loss is still a loss whether its by one or fifty.

I hear year and year that the SEC is on a different level than the rest of the country but no one can answer how a conference that is so tough ends up with a 1 or no loss conference champ every yr.
