Remember when TCU and Baylor watched at home during conference championship week a few years ago?
The only difference between that example and this example is that ND is 12-0, not 11-1.

If ND was 11-1 then they would probably be worrying and likely OUT. But they are undefeated so there's no doubt they are in.

ND didn't need to play today.

In their 12 games they managed to beat the team that Ohio State and the team that Clemson is playing today.

They didn't need a 13th data point to get that done.

This is just the networks trying to make drama to get ratings up. Next they will have the stache start offering free viagra in a little popup on the screen.
Stop being funny and making sense.

3. ND
4. OU

End of debate....:suds:

Think this is the goal. However Ohio State is making noise in their game. Just don't know if they can do enough to pass Oklahoma that is already ranked above them.

It comes down to a fatal flaw of a team that isn't consistent, or a team that consistently plays terrible defense and knock out offense.

I don't see Georgia in with 2 losses. And I don't think they put ND at four. Better ratings for TV in keeping ND and Bama in separate games in game 1

24-21 OSU at the moment....no way they should jump into the playoffs over OU ( even with their pathetic defense)
Georgia should be out no questions at all....

I don't think Oklahoma will get leap frogged.

I think when you look at Strength and Weakness meters. I think having Bama - Oklahoma will be a terrific game. I think ND - Clemson will be a lot like every other game both have had this year. Some dumb play calls and some sloppiness, but right now I would still favor Clemson by 10 on a neutral field. And hopefully that field is Dallas not Miami

I really want to see OU and Bama play in the first round.....and Clem ND ! Just as a neutral observer.

Pretty safe bet Bama picks Dallas IMO.

So do I homie. I mean ND is the underdog in either and has only a boxers chance in either game. But I like ND's boxer chance against Clemson more than Bama. I think just about everyone in the country would admit that against any team.

Think it would be funny to see just see how Lincoln and company would score on that Bama defense. And if Lincoln and company could find a way to stop the Bama offense

I don't know. Depends on the opponent. Team 1 gets their pick of the closest / preferred stadium. I think if Bama is picked against Oklahoma they would prefer to play in Miami than Dallas.

And ND is terrible in Miami just one of those things.

Bama plays in Dallas a lot though. A lot of their neutral site games are there. But you might be right. Didn't factor in Oklahoma being their opponent.

So in lieu of having to play the best of their conference, ie Bama/Leg Humpers, ND gets a free ride into the play off. Something’s amiss.

I still can't get why people get hung up on CC week.

Which CC did Bama play last year to get in? What CC did Ohio St play a couple years ago to get in?

It is a wasted week that could have been used for an expanded playoff instead. ND ran their schedule. If they would have dropped a game they would be about 6th at best right now. It is fairly common that no matter what ND's record is. They will be the bottom ranked team with that record.

Exactly...and with Book and Williams and ...(shit the forget the main WR you have now) the offense took off when Wimbush sat down. Ian Book took you guys to a different level.......a top 4 level. You could beat Clemson imo and Bama looks a bit vulnerable.

Pretty sure that the powers that be think like most of us that there is no second game for ND, so they are probably going for the guaranteed ND-Alabama in game 1.

Could ND win. Sure. Would they be favored to win more than 50% of the time. No. So they will be a dog in either opponent. If I was writing lines today it would be something like
vs. Clemson 10-12 points
vs. Bama 15-17 points
That is depending on Tua at game time.

And the name of the WR is Boykin. However his real strength has been in helping by getting double teamed. Which has opened up Claypool and Feinke. And that is really his biggest contribution the last couple of games.

We will see at noon tomorrow no matter what.

My guess
Bama - Oklahoma at Miami
Clemson - ND at Dallas

I don’t disagree about the Bama/OSU part But for all the teams that have been apart of a conference forever, as SOS always said our main goal is to win the conference, and everything else will fall into place. It’s tradition jus like winning against the big three for us. A measure of your season.

In a normal year I agree with you.

But this year you have the Tua vs Murray draw. Which I think is bigger. And let's face it. The playoff is about money. Sure it is cool for awarding titles. But at the end of the day it is butts in seats and money made. And this year I think that is a bigger draw.

It is, that's why they are saving it for the championship game.

ND's schedule is comparable without playing this week. In some instances, it is even better without playing today. You guys can start bitching when we start scheduling FCS in November. ND plays one of the toughest schedules every year, and they travel from coast to coast.
