Williams did not report if it is a tear or a sprain -- we know, a sprain is a tear -- which will significantly affect the timetable. That said, it is unlikely Gordon will be ready to face the Steelers next Sunday night. That would leave Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson to carry the load in the Chargers' backfield

Marlon Mack was forced from Sunday's game against the Dolphins with a concussion and will not return.

Mack was ruled out late in the fourth quarter. He was having a strong game before going down, rushing 15 times for 85 yards while adding two receptions. He will have the full seven days to get cleared for Week 13 against the Bills. Jordan Wilkins would be the next man up on early downs.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported four days ago that Jones had a "chance" to return in Week 13 but instead the Lions are ending his season. Jones had already missed Weeks 11 and 12. In the third year of a five-year deal, Jones was having an inconsistent campaign in the Lions' once-crowded receiver corps. His 56 yards per game were down 13 from 2017. Jones' loss coupled with Golden Tate's trade leaves the Lions embarrassingly thin at wide receiver behind Kenny Golladay. Expect some #BruceEllingtonSZN down the stretch. Golladay, meanwhile, will find himself on the WR1/2 borderline. Going on 29, Jones should be back at his $6.5 million salary for 2019, though coach Matt Patricia fancies himself a ground-and-pound maestro.

Bengals placed QB Andy Dalton on injured reserve with torn ligaments in his thumb, ending his season.

The Bengals' Monday waiver claim of Tom Savage looked like a bad sign for Dalton's chances of playing in Week 13. But he's not going to play for the rest of the season now. Jeff Driskel will close out the season as Cincinnati's starting quarterback. Dalton, who turned 31 last month, finished the 2018 campaign with a 21:11 TD-to-INT ratio and averaged 7.0 yards per attempt, once again reasserting himself as a mid-range to below-average NFL starter. The Bengals can save $16.2 million in salary cap space by releasing Dalton in the offseason with zero dead money. That, of course, would require them to start over at the quarterback position, an approach Marvin Lewis and owner Mike Brown have been loath in recent years to take.

He had to be hospitalized after Week 12's win over Miami and underwent a "prodecure." Coach Frank Reich did say Monday that Doyle's prognosis is "good" to resume playing football in 2019. This locks Eric Ebron back in as Indianapolis' primary tight end. The injury will hurt the Colts more in real life than fantasy box scores; Doyle is a far superior blocker to Ebron and plays over 80% of the team's offensive snaps. With Ebron taking over the No. 1 tight end role, Mo Alie-Cox will move to No. 2. No. 3 tight end Erik Swoope hasn't played since Week 7 due to a knee injury.

Well since I started Melvin Gordon and lost by 1 when he sat in London, now I don't have to worry about him screwing me in the playoffs.

Is Gordon still a top 5 back next year? Seems like a yearly injury risk now.
