I think Trump is fucking up on this caravan migration. He should let them in, put them on buses and take them right to the first sanctuary city they come to and dump them off. If Californians feel so strongly about this issue to have their cities become sanctuaries, let them take care of them. Offer no federal assistance. Trust me, within 2 weeks these same liberals will be begging for a new way.

Thats great, but also allow them to work and pay taxes LEGALLY. At which point they earn a fair wage and can take care of themselves instead of drawing on social programs that so many are against. You would be shocked how many of these people would simply work, and take care of their families.

Absolutely. If they can find legal work. Until then, who is going to take care of them? How will they survive?

I would bet dimes to donuts if this were actually done, you would have immigrants rights groups stepping up to help these people get on their feet. I also know that 10 miles from me, there are oranges rotting on the tree because the grove owners cant get enough people to pick them in time and this happens yearly. This drives costs up because they have to sell what they do pick for more to cover the cost of the waste on the branch. And before someone screams.. those are AMERICAN jobs... go do a little research on a film from the 40s done by the Department of Defense called dont be a sucker. What it told us then, is eerily similar to some of the crap I hear coming out of the mouths of "Americans" now.

y the way.. fun fact. Nigerian Military just gunned down protestors for throwing rocks, and stated their justification was they agreed with Trump in that protesters should be shot for this. Im not saying this is Trumps fault in any way shape or form. I think they would have shot them in any case.

I do find it a problem our President accidently gives horrible people political cover with the words coming out of his mouth.

i think that this is staged and meant to cause a disturbance , we now find out that old BETO has been sending money to support these people ( illegally maybe because it might be campaign contributions but i have seen no proof )

this was started by george soros as has most of the upheaval and a reason he is banned from several countries

Yes and a week ago there were "Middle Easterners" in the Caravan. And Democrats want open borders. For as much as you tell people unplug from the left, you need to get away from the Daily Caller, Brietbart and others. This was Ted Cruz trying to muddy the waters in a race he should be winning easily but still might lose.

As the midterm approaches, along with the caravan of migrants from Central America and Mexico, the White House may authorize up to 15,000 troops to assist federal law enforcement agencies along the nearly 2,000-mile southern border with Mexico. This, according to current and former federal law enforcement officials, would send a message to future migrant groups and curb the flow of illicit drugs and contraband by narco-traffickers into the country.

The issue of “catch and release” whereby mainly family units are apprehended when they come into the country and later released pending immigration court proceedings, is a major loophole being exploited by illegal migrants trying to find ways to enter the United States, said former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan, who is now a Fox News Contributor.

The caravan smugglers, the drug cartels are watching to see what we do

“The president’s response has to be strong, it has to be immediate and we have to catch them at the border and hold them at the border until they get through the court system,” Homan told SaraACarter.com. “The caravan smugglers, the drug cartels are watching to see what we do. If we catch and we release these caravans now, we can expect larger caravans in the near future. We cannot be held hostage by these groups.”

Currently, the Flores Settlement Agreement–a Ninth Circuit Court ruling–requires the release of family units, adults traveling with children, after 20 days. Homan noted that it takes much longer, usually 45 to 60 days, to get in front of a judge. The attorneys representing the immigrants already know the system is overburdened and immigration lawyers work to appeal the cases over and over again to elongate the immigrants stay in the country. Because the migrants know their stay in a holding facility is short “they wait out the 20 days until they are released into the country awaiting a court date that they usually never show up to,” said an ICE officer in Texas, who asked that his name not be revealed due to the nature of his work.

According to current statistics Border Patrol apprehended 107,212 family units in 2018. In 2013, 14,855 family units were apprehended.

It is an increase of more than 620% in just 5 years, according to the statistics.

A way of mitigating that problem, says Homan, is providing detention facilities that would house the migrants like the “tent cities” currently being proposed by Trump.

“The minute that decision came down from the Ninth Circuit Court we saw an onslaught of families coming,” Homan added. “They will not show up in court and disappear. The Ninth Circuit really tied our hands.”

In an interview with Fox New’s Laura Ingram, Trump said migrants applying for asylum would be held in tent cities until their asylum case can be heard by the courts.

“If they apply for asylum, we are going to hold them … We are going to build tent cities,” Trump said. “We’re going to put tents up all over the place. We’re not going to build structures and … spend all of these of hundreds of millions of dollars. We are going to have tents, they are going to be very nice, and they are going to wait. And if they don’t get asylum, they get out.”

Homan, along with other ICE officers and Border Patrol agents who spoke to this news site, also noted multiple factors that have contributed to the overwhelming problems with the U.S. immigration system when dealing with illegal immigrants crossing the southern border.

For example, they noted the Trafficking Victims Protections Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) usually results in the swift U.S. resettlement of all illegal migrants under the age of 18, also known as unaccompanied alien minors (UAC).

Under the act, the minors are transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services and then eventually released to a sponsor, usually a parent, but a relative can suffice.

As a result of the lax rules, Customs and Border Protection noted an increase in the number of minors entering the U.S. For example, Border Patrol agents apprehended 18,622 minors in 2010 but by 2018, those apprehensions skyrocketed to 50,036, an increase of 169% in just 8 years, according to CBP statistics.

On a recent trip to Guatemala, this news agency was informed that during the second caravan wave, seven unaccompanied minors were rescued and removed from people posing as a relative, most of the seven were under the age of ten, according to senior Guatemalan officials.

In some cases, the minors are trafficked by smuggling rings or sometimes “rented” by illegal immigrant smuggling rings trying to get their group into the U.S. by having them pose as parents of the minors they are traveling with to cross the border, said Homan and several ICE officers.

Some of these kids are rented out, used by the smugglers to get people across the border and into the country

“Some of these kids are rented out, used by the smugglers to get people across the border and into the country,” said and ICE official, who works along the U.S. Mexico border. “These children are in danger and we don’t know how many times this has happened where we weren’t aware of it. There’s also a problem when pre-asylum screeners almost always granting ‘credible fear’ to almost anyone with any story.”

Before 2013, roughly one out of every 100 illegal immigrants claimed credible fear in their efforts to seek asylum but today the numbers have dramatically increased to one out of every 10, according to reports. And in the last eight years credible fear claims have increased by 1700 percent.

Making matters difficult, say ICE officials, is that 90 percent of asylum seekers easily pass the first step when claiming “credible fear,” citing danger to their lives if they return home, according to reports. However, that first step doesn’t always work and they still need to go through the judicial system where almost always, the judge doesn’t find they meet the criteria that they are seeking asylum for “political, religious or other extraordinary circumstances,” said Homan.

But, with these credible fear cases, despite 90 percent passing their original screening, only 20 percent of the people are actually granted asylum, according to reports and Homan.

FACTS ON ILLEGAL FAMILY UNITS AND APPREHENSIONS

  • Fiscal Year 2018 is the highest number of family unit apprehensions on record. More than 40% higher than any previous year on record.
  • The number of family units along the southwest border increased 22% from August to September.
  • Illegal alien minors or adults traveling with minors who unlawfully enter the United States are rarely detained or removed but released.
  • Customs and Border Protection used to primarily apprehend single adults but now CBP has an influx of minors and adults traveling with minors hoping to enter the country by utilizing the loopholes.

Below are the facts surrounding the “caravans” en route to the U.S. Southwest border.

Q: Do we know who is in the caravan?
A: We continue to be concerned about individuals along the caravan route. In fact, over 270 individuals along the caravan route have criminal histories, including known gang membership. Those include a number of violent criminals – examples include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery, sexual assault on a child, and assault on a female. Mexican officials have also publicly stated that criminal groups have infiltrated the caravan. We also continue to see individuals from over 20 countries in this flow from countries such as Somalia, India, Haiti, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. There is a large segment of this population that we know nothing about and we must be prepared to defend our border and enforce our laws to protect the citizens of our country.

Q: Are there criminals in the caravan?
A: Yes – so far, there are over 270 individuals along the caravan route that have criminal histories, including known gang membership.

On October 29, the Mexican ambassador to the U.S. described some of the caravan members as “very violent:” “Unfortunately, some of the people in the caravan have been very violent against authority, even though they have offered the possibility of entering in compliance with immigration law and refugee status.”

On October 30, Mexico’s Interior Minister Navarrete Prida speaking on Radio Enfoque (Focus) 100.1 FM, confirmed that some criminal groups have infiltrated the caravan: “I have videos from Guatemala that show men dressed in identical clothing, sporting the same haircuts, handing out money to women to persuade them to move to the front of the caravan…We know, for a fact, that some members of the caravan threatened [Mexican] Migration Institute personnel and we have images showing many of them preparing Molotov cocktails.”

Q: Is the caravan only women and children?
A: No, reports on the ground from our foreign partners suggest that approximately 50 percent are single adults. However, the Guatemalan Intel Minister said that the caravan is employing tactics to push women and children to the front to act as human shields as the caravan pushes against its military forces.

Q: How many troops will be deployed to the Southwest border?
A: By November 2, there will be approximately 5,200 deployed to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the Southwest border as part of Operation Faithful Patriot. This is in addition to the 2,000 National Guardsmen currently deployed for Operation Guardian Support.

Q: When do you expect the caravan to arrive at the border?
A: Current estimates indicate that the caravan could arrive between four days and two weeks (from October 31) depending on the mode of transportation and whether they make any prolonged stops.

Q: Why do you need to deploy the armed forces to the border?
A: The potential for large groups – who have already showed a propensity to using violence to achieve its objective – presents a unique safety threat to our nation and Border Patrol personnel as well as to the security of the American people. We have already witnessed these groups forcibly encroach upon foreign borders and have engaged in violence when confronted by those governments.

Q: Why are we seeing caravans heading towards our Southwest border?
A: Our nation is experiencing an unprecedented crisis on our Southern Border that is the result of loopholes that prevent the detention and repatriation of illegal alien minors and family units. FY18 is the highest number of family unit apprehensions on record – it is more than 40% higher than any previous year on record. As a result of these loopholes, when illegal alien minors or adults traveling with minors unlawfully enter the United States, rather than being detained and removed, they are released into American communities. Once released, those who have no legal right to stay are almost never removed. Knowledge of these loopholes has led to a dramatic transformation in the population of those seeking to enter our country illegally.

Q: Will you allow the caravan to enter the United States?
A: We will not allow a large group of illegal migrants attempt to enter into the United States if they have no lawful right to gain entry.

Q: Will the caravan be allowed to seek asylum?
A: Our goal is to provide protection to those individuals who qualify for asylum under our laws. Individuals who want jobs or want to reunify with family members in the U.S. aren’t eligible to qualify for asylum.

OK so lets assume this is all true.

1. If we know there are Criminals, arrest them when they present or try to get in. They are over 900 miles away at minimum. So its not like we cant be prepared.

2. Even taking this into account. You dont find it ODD that the President is trying to paint All of them as criminals and bad hombres because it does exactly what he wants. Gin up fear in his base??

3. All this says one thing, and Trump has even come out and said.. we dont want THESE people in our country period. I get the fear of American "Culture" changing. But I have seen far too many people since 2016 outright pinning culture on not wanting America to lose its current ethnic make up. At this point I respect the people more who can just come out and admit that is what bothers them more than those that try and hide behind the spin of cost, crime and what ever other cover. At least some folks are honest about their real reason.

you miss the whole point , his base elected him to fix immigration , not open borders to anyone FORCING thier way in . it pretty simple shark , come to our country and respect our laws and policies . doesnt matter where you are from

cost crime and everything else is truth . you think a migrant making less then minimum wage gives the US a profit ? that is plain foolish . feeding , clothing , educating , and treating them medically cost far more then a sub minimum wage worker can contribute to the economy

and it doesnt even address ID theft , or illegally voting

if you were to deport every illegal in this country today and have them all come back and make it through legally i am all for it

but as usual leftist think every damn thing is about race

1. The President himself has made it about race from the moment he came down that escalator to announce he was running. He has had every chance in the world to NOT make it us vs them, and at every turn does the exact opposite.

2. For the last two years Republicans have had a majority in the house and senate as well as the President. And have done NOTHING to fix immigration besides pound the table for a wall and demonize Latinos at every fucking turn. This is to include that racist ass tweet he dropped and has pinned to his account from two days ago. A tweet which by the way is factually inaccurate... but fuck if that has ever even caused this President to blink.

3. Fix the laws and know who is here and guess what goes away?? ID theft for the purposes of staying in the country. Illegal voting, which his OWN commission couldnt even find this rampant voter fraud.

4. You deport these people, and I would stake my life that NONE of them will ever be allowed in the country again. Hell he has been trying to strip citizenship from people, you really think they would let people back in that they dont want here in any capacity to begin with??

As for Voter Fraud, you know what party they have found the most fraud for?? GOP voters voting twice from two different states. See Im not the one who thinks it doesnt happen. BUt I dont think its this rampant wave that Trump thinks cost him the popular vote.

As for the ID fraud thing.. again if people didnt have to SNEAK in, the instances of ID theft for the purposes of being able to work would go down. Sure there will be people that do it for other nefarious reasons. But you damning an entire group of people for one person harming you is about as valid as me blaming all white people for Richard Spencers hateful rhetoric. Or someone saying that because Farrakhan is a racist, all Muslims are.

E-verify has been the law for the past ten years. I know it intricately because my wife bitches about it every three months when her reports are do. And it works rather well actually. Chain immigration is by its very nature a bigoted term, because I highly doubt that if you moved to another country you would not want to bring your family, or offer the same opportunity to your extended family. This dislike of sponsored immigration (which works by the way) is once again based in the idea that, we just have to many others coming into the country.

This.. from one of the GOP leaders who is currently running for re-election and might win sums it up nicely though...

I don't have anything? I just wrote 250 words on the topic. I don't care if the Democrats fall off the fuckin' planet. I was pointing out that running the memes list of "how you might be a liberal" doesn't make you educated. It means you can cut and paste.

Like I said, there is no meme. This is what the Democratic Party stands for.
1- abortion, killing babies.
2- free medical care for all...paid for by the few.
3- free college for all...paid for by the few.
4- giving away sovereignty.
5- open borders
