Remember all of the bitching by some folks here about Amerson being released. Well - he had that one solid year with the Raiders & not much else. He had an injury shortened season last year & subsequently was acquired & let go by the Chiefs & is now trying to latch on w/ the Lions or whoever will take him. Sounds like he is a solid journeyman & not much else. Pencil Breeland into the same category moving fwd.

There has been a favorite line here that goes...."Some here undervalue the players that we have and overvalue players coming in from other teams" Or something to that effect. The counter has always been, although unstated, "Some here also overvalue players that we have here and can't see that there are better players acquired from elsewhere."

Kirk Cousin's -35/48; 425 yards; 4 TDs; 1 INT - brought his team back from 13 down in 4th quarter with 3 4th quarter TD passes including a 22 yard TD pass and 2 point conversion with 31 seconds left - kicker missed two FGs to win the game ---- looks like a lateral move with the Skins getting CDC

DJax - 4 catches 129 yards

Yes, he missed two in OT. Green Bay had the ball 1st and missed a 52 yarder. Crosby's only miss of the game. He hit 5/6

Honestly, the player that people ought to be comparing Cousins to is this guy.

Case Keenum, who has now led his team to a 2-0 start, was 19/35 for 222 yards and 1 Int. Just as important he stepped up to help get his guys in position to kick a GW FG with 6 seconds left on the clock. I wonder if the Vikings are wondering if they could have saved a ton of money by keeping him there. Sound familiar?

They won 13 games with Case, apparently they think Cousin's has something Case doesn't. I believe dad was of the opinion that he would have rather seen Keenum instead of Smith here. The Redskins could have saved a ton of money. Other than last year there is nothing to suggest he is Cousin's equal.

I have been laughing and saying to myself, why didn't the Redskins sign Ryan Fitzpatrick. He is lighting up the league …. through two games.

Actually, at this moment, they are probably asking why didn’t they get a kicker? I am pretty sure Viking fans are happy with KC.

Well, if we are going to just use the first 2 games as the litmus test, who we should have signed, for next to nothing, was Fitzpatrick.

But lets be honest. Neither Keenum, nor Fitzpatrick, are in the same conversation over the long haul with Cousins, or Smith, for that matter. The question is would we have been better off with a Keenum or Fitzpatrick and a 3rd round pick in last years draft and Fuller as opposed to just Smith. I'll reserve final judgement for a few more games, but what I saw yesterday from Smith is concerning. Talk about padding your numbers.........he gave up on the last 2 drives and just "protected" the ball all the way to a loss.

I won’t. We would have been better off not making that trade regardless of who the QB would have been.

Have to take the good with the bad. Cousin's 40/55; 296 yards 1 TD; 1 INT; 2 lost fumbles. Not good.
