Are there any calls to have Meyer's wife fired? Sh knew about before Urban.

Is this a real question? Why the hell would she be fired?

She's not the assistant coaches boss. Urban is. As such, it was his job to deal with it.

It isn't. The school doesn't need to be gutted like Baylor -- but having your head coach lie about criminal activities of his coaching staff is still a pretty big deal.

Do people at your job get suspended for beating their wife?

Again, is this a real question?

I am not the head coach of a major university.

However, if I were to be arrested for it and my company found out about it...yes, a suspension would be the best I could hope for.

I wouldn't say that in the wake of the recent political culture. Knowingly covering up a wife beater to keep him on staff is worse, IMO, than knowingly covering up kids selling their gold pants for money.
If Ohio State fired Tressel for lying about some tattoos I'm not sure how Urban escapes this.

One is lying about breaking NCAA rules.

The other is lying about an accusation but no actual rule was broken.

If he does get suspended, who takes over? Their staff is filled with guys with rocky backgrounds. This is going to look awful.

So if you were arrested but not convicted, you'd still lose your job? Mob mentality. We don't need the courts, we can hang him ourselves.(sarcasm)

She's an instructor in the nurse's college. Doesn't she affect her students as much as her husband does? Did she report this to the police? HR? No, she kept quiet and became a private support person.

That is true.

I guess I'm thinking of it more from a perception standpoint. If they came out and implied that is the difference in these cases there's going to be some huge moral backlash.

This kind of shit has been going on too long. I don't like Meyer for whatever reason, but the mob mentality of the press and public is getting ridiculous. He didn't cover up anything, he just decided it was not his place to make it public. You don't fire a guy for that.

I was going to say something to that effect, but didn't want to be seen as an Urban apologist.

I don't know any more details about this situation than what I've read here, but it seems to me that there's a not-so-subtle difference between "covering something up" and "not reporting something."

So a Notre Dame fan wants Ohio State to fire their coach because he “covered up” a domestic assault by not making it public, but Brian Kelly is still employed with what he has done at Notre Dame. Amusing.

Plus, Notre Dame is a catholic school, so you know they're all fucking choir boys up in that piece.

Urban Meyer has built a sizeable cache while at Ohio St.

Having said that, this is a potential Title IX (similar to at least) investigation.

Five years ago, this probably doesn't amount to much. But given how society is nowadays and how more prevalent assault in general is going through CFB (FSU, Baylor as recent examples), it's going to be interesting to see how this concludes.
