From the 7th inning on, I wouldn't pitch to Davis.
Also from mlbtraderumors.com:
The Rangers have only received “a couple of nibbles” in Shin-Soo Choo, and aren’t generating much more interest in either Cole Hamels or their bullpen trade chips. Part of the issue is that the Rangers’ players aren’t standing out amidst a deep market for relief options, and Hamels’ poor performance over his last five starts has raised concerns among rival evaluators. Some Rangers officials believe Hamels’ struggles may be influenced by stress over the trade rumors.
From the looks of the crowds, owners are going to want to see some action. If this trade deadline season turns out to be as disappointing as it looks like it is then I believe it sets our window opening timeframe back some. Can this team become a legitimate WS contender before 2023 if the bulk of the prospects are not going to get here before 2021 or 2022?
Our reinforcements seem to be as likely to show up about as much as the reinforcements were that Travis and Bowie were waiting for. From the looks of the crowds, owners are going to want to see some action.
Could spell more FAOur reinforcements seem to be as likely to show up about as much as the reinforcements were that Travis and Bowie were waiting for.
A smattering of the right FAs helps to finish off a good team and make them great. I don't think we can buy our way to greatness though.Could spell more FA

That was me.It's hard to get enough walks to negate a 'less than' .220 BA......And whoever pointed out about him swinging at high pitches was right on.....Hope I gave ya a 'like' for that one......Honestly, it annoys me when he tries to show power. The 'want of power' is his enemy IMO.
Intentional Walks don't seem to be a thing Rangers do much. From the 7th inning on, I wouldn't pitch to Davis.
They can make a splash to bring in a FA or two, but I don't think we can buy our way to a WS. That goal will require a good mix of very good young players a good FA or two and some luck. The very good young players mix is not close.Have said this before but got to think Owners will make some FA splash before 2020. Have to think pitching will be big factor when we will compete next.

Now if they trade Maz and Odor, then maybe we can acquire some upper level minor league talent and have them here by 2019 or 2020 along with a couple of FA. Then they can make a run for postseason in 2020 and be ready to compete for a title a year or two later.
