How does this happen??

Yeah, that was brutal. I can't believe that even happened. The rule (And I hated it the second that I heard it) was designed to protect the catcher from getting rolled. That was an abomination. Slide you pussy!

I find it hilarious watching fans and announcers ripping umpires for missing a call that we need 5 angles and slow motion to decide on

Get rid of this shit now

Twins fucked again because they claim not enough evidence(there was) to overturn.

Took 5 min too

The very first game of the season the replay officials overturn a call a call at the plate that cost the Tigers the game. NO noticeable evidence ... never got an explanation. Replay should be limited and replay officials should be held accountable.

Their name is "New York," and we should never forget that.

No. Umpires often make crappy calls. We have the technology to make sure the right call is made, so it should be used.

Can't block the plate without the ball, which the catcher did. Easy call. Dodgers were involved in a similar play, but Kemp rolled the catcher instead (Kemp got injured in a similar play last year, so wasn't going to chance the slide), so he got ejected. Had he done anything else, he would've been ruled safe.

He had to move to catch the ball. The throw beat the little douchebag Cozart by a mile and he took advantage of a bad rule.

It looks like it was very possible it bounced off the webbing. Not clear either way, thus, no over turn.

Good call by the replay officials.

You could see it hit the ground clearly

Only thing that sucks more than replay is the twins themselves.

Which replay showed it hit the ground?

It was a deep bounce, that very well could have been inside the webbing.

Sounds good in theory, but when they delay a game on what looks like an obvious bad call and the call still stands more times than not, it's a waste of time.

If that were truly the case, you would have an argument. But usually the replay officials get it right. There are some very blatant examples where they screwed it up, but those are few and far between.

I agree on it taking too long, though. 120 seconds from the moment the replay official gets the call should be plenty of time (save for extenuating circumstances like where to place runners etc).
