Shaw has won more games than Luke has in a single season so there's that.
Yeah, Shaw won 36 games in his first season and was on pace for a worse finish when he was fired 59 games into his 2nd season. To even equal their win total from his first season, they would have had to finish 16-7. That's trending in the wrong direction.
In Luke's first 2 seasons he improved the team by 9 wins each season. From 17 wins the season before he was hired, to 26 his first season and 35 in his 2nd season. Many, yourself included, have said that if not for Ingram and Lonzo missing a combined 53 games, the Lakers would have been in the 40-42 win territory. That's trending in the right direction.
Luke is doing just fine and Shaw is in the right spot...Assistant Head Coach.
I swear, some of you fellow Lakers fans crack me up. You want Luke on a short leash despite all of the good things he's done. Then, if the Lakers get off to the slow start that pretty much everyone expects to happen, you want him fired.
Sometimes I understand the shit that other fans say about us Lakers fans.
