Second PP is better by miles than in the last several years on paper. I hope it translates onto the ice. That would be nice since we could use two solid PP units.
Yeah for sure it is and they may play JVR and Simmonds on the third line to give it a boost. Would definitely give a guy like Frost a little more support that way. Lindblom could play second line and they'd probably be fine. I'd prefer 3 or even better 4 good lines than just 2. Something to think about.

Wilcox and Martel sign. Most likely season-long Phantoms. But I guess good to have them back.

I like the Martel signing as he can fill in for week or two in the Flyers in case of heavy injuries.

Ready for the preseason to start also. The last like 80% of July and all of August are the worst time of the year IMO. Hot and nasty outside, no hockey. Bleh.

Flyers Top 20 Prospects – July 2018

And if you don’t want to take it from me, take it from Steve Kournianos, a respected draft analyst, who wrote this about the Flyers farm system in his 2018 draft preview:

“The Flyers have the NHL’s best prospect pool. Period….Their farm system is overflowing with talent, to the point where there won’t be any room for them in either Philadelphia or their AHL affiliate in Lehigh Valley. You can make the argument that the players at bottom of the Flyers’ prospect depth chart are superior to the entire farm system of most NHL teams.”

I like Leier in a 4th line role. I would really like to see the Leier-Laughton-Raffl honeybees again as the 4th line. That's what a 4th line should be.
I just thought Leier was going to be a better player than a 4th liner. To me he is a disappointment so far.

If this brings us a cup its a good strategy. If it doesn't its just as good as our strategy for the last 43 years. As you know ,Im always prepared for a cup sooner that later.

On most teams some of these guys would be playing third line we can't forget that fact. This means that the depth is getting better and better should continue as the draft picks start pushing for the pros. When you have too many players that's a good problem as you can upgrade a player at the deadline and it doesn't hurt you. But the key is to still get their talent out of them with less minutes. This worked for Vegas as all of their lines worked for them and all played. Raffle especially should take advantage of these matchups and Laughton should be a very good fourth line center. It will be fun to watch...

I was/am hoping he could be a Matt Read type guy. So I guess in that aspect i'm a little disappointed too as he's shown no signs of scoring 20 goals. But I like his two way play and his energy.

True. The depth should be coming. And it should be young and cost controlled. The Flyers have 14 former first rounders on the roster or in the system, 13 of which they drafted. That's a lot of first round talent on the squad and lots of development going on.
