I don't think Carolina would trade Skinner within the division unless they were getting a perceived steal. He's only 26, but has just one year left at $5.75 million. How much of a raise and how long of a term will he need with an extension? This would have to be a sign and trade scenario. No sense in trading for a one year rental.

I think they'd go in division. I think, especially since the reorganization, that gets a little overblown. These days if you don't trade within your division you eliminate 25% of your trade partners. That could seriously hamper the return. Have to have faith that you're going to win trades and won't regret them down the line.

I still think they brought Lou in for a reason, I guess if the Isles get a little aggressive in the off season we'll know their keeping him. Only other scenario The Isle take the 2 picks plus someone out of the farm system or perhaps 2 (who?) but adding him makes us what?
That article basically says we aren't getting him so i am putting that to rest until he is actually in a Flyers jersey on the ice for the drop of the puck.

It all depends on who they want for Skinner and who is willing to pay the price to get him. If we really want him we have the players to do it.

Yep like I was saying, unless we end up giving up a truck load for him. I would think our 14th 19th and maybe youngster out of the camp? Any more than that I think would be considered a raping of us lol.

Tavares is UFA, if he wanted to sign with the Flyers all it would take is money. Don't have to give the Isles anything. That's why it's such an attractive option. Coincidently, it being so attractive is why the odds are so long. Every team wants to make it happen.

I wouldn't mind looking into how much it would cost to get Nick Ritchie in a Flyer uni.

Okay I thought he was on the last year for up coming season. Was reading about Tyler Seguin to and I think I thought they were both on their last years but it's just Seguin.

I wouldn't give up much for him. He's basically just a goon at this point in his career. Got drafted high off a great OHL playoff run and hasn't replicated that production since. 27 points and 72 PIMs last year (only Gudas had more on the Flyers).
He played 26 minutes on the PK total last year and was heavily sheltered from defensive zone starts, so he's not a defensive guy either.

Where would you have him play on the Flyers?

Size that I would be more interested in..

Hanzal (6'6 230) - Plays the PK significantly, dominant faceoff guy. Only issue is he's 4.5 mil and coming off spinal fusion surgery

Ward (6'2 225) - Plays some PK, UFA and could come cheap and short duration

Tuch (6'4 220) - Brings size and some decent scoring. Nothing on the PK though. But he'll be tough to pry from Vegas (RFA)

Lowry (6'5 220) - Size and big PK minutes. RFA in WPG, might be tough to pry him away.

Just to name a few. I'm not against size guys, but they have to bring something other than size. Scoring, PK ability, something.

Lehtera,Raffl Weal, Weisse all make more money and had less points. You can pick one of those guys spots and he also provides size that we sorely need.

Id take Tuch in a heartbeat out of these guys.

What does Raffl or Weise bring from of scoring PK ability? and we keep them around and they make more money

I don't like them either haha. Raffl can bring a decent forecheck, but didn't do it consistently last year. I think he's a good 4th liner.

Weise is bad at hockey. We need to get rid of guys like him not add more of them. And this time I do mean to compare Ritchie and Weise, I don't think their games are that much different.

Ritchie fits right in with those guys IMO. They're just bodies. A cup contender limits the number of guys like that on the ice.

(I think Weal and Raffl could be fine 4th liners)

Their games arent much different except Weise and Raffl make a lot more money and arent able protect our stars when needed. Yes we if we got out of round one we would've certainly needed that with Tom Wilson taking runs at Gee and Jake any time he felt like it.
